If you love coding, take this class; if coding is a chore for you, don't take this class. The class is broken up into projects based on what was learned in a textbook. If you already have a solid foundation in code, you probably will not need the book for the assignments. But you probably will need the book for niche vocabulary terms on the test.

assignments are pretty dense. He doesnt teach at all. notes are YouTube videos on the topics youll learn. Though the class is unlocked for the sem. U have 7 programming assignments with one being extra credit for the entire class. I recommend you read the textbook (BUY IT). Youll be learning on your own here. Start a groupme to help the class out

Really a straight-forward class, all of his lectures are reading a page of text and visuals, bundled with a textbook (no videos btw). The book's programs can be hard to read at times, but if you know concepts from your other programming classes (mainly Java or C++), you should be fine. Do more than 8 assignments for a lot of EC.

I have taken three JAVA courses through Professor Jurkovic, all have been pretty solid. Course is opened in its entirety from the first day, so work ahead and enjoy your time spent on other classes.

If you want to get an A, you need to read the textbook and do his posted assignments. The assignments are hard, but the time and effort are worth it. Don't procrastinate because one assignment can sometimes take hours to finish. Overall, his course is easy to follow. The textbook is pretty dense. Ask friends/classmates for help on assignments.

Amazing professor. He gives you the assignment page for the whole course, so you could finish all the programs as soon as possible. Even though the test wasn't anything I learned, it wasn't hard to get a good grade.

I have no idea why Dr. Jurkovic was rated this low. Perhaps because other students don't know how to follow simple instructions. He is probably the best Computer Science professor I have ever taken, and I never met him (online course). He gives you time to turn in assignments and is a fair grader. It's an easy A if you work hard. No other like him!

Programming Fundamentals III covers many common Data Structures that you will implement in either Java or C++. Whichever course you take, whether it be the 3 credit hour or 4; will decide if you need to do more or less programs; the remainder assignments are counted as extra credit. Start early on the programs to get them done.

Terrible isn't even a good enough word. All I learned was from reading the book with absolutely no support from him. As a matter of fact he doesn't even bother opening the files I turn in as hw, he gives you a 100 even if you turn in a blank paper. Avoid at all cost if you're truly trying to learn because you won't find value here!!!!

The assignments aren't that bad. The tests are really difficult. Thankfully he only has 2 test and offers A LOT OF EXTRA CREDIT. If you have 69.5 at then of the semester you can pull still pull off "A" in this class. Don't miss your exams. If you do unless you are in the hospital with the documentation you won't get a makeup. The assignments are EZ

Just took this class online. Every assignment was fairly simple but the tests were like something from another class. Even referencing the book, I could not find the answers. That being said, with a lot of extra credit opportunities, it's not impossible to pass his class

He is pretty lenient with his Data Structures course. He gives about 13 assignments throughout the semester (due Fridays @ midnight). You are only expected to do 8 of them while more is extra credit. 2 online quizzes and a final exam that is just a set of questions to answer. The book he uses allows you to pick either Java or C++ for assignments.

Assignments clearly laid out. If your good at programming, you will do fine in this course. Just read the chapter and read the homework assignment thoroughly. Exams are ok, kinda have to read the book and find the answer. Overall not too bad of a class.

Dr. Jurkovic is very easy on assignments as far as due dates, he will let you turn them in at any time during the semester, for this class plan to do outside research because the free downloadable book is use less, take home final is easy, plan to ask questions after lectures because his explanations over email are not that great, hard topics...

Prof responds quickly to questions. Assignments are clearly laid out however mix up with due dates caused some confusion for some students. Reviews not very helpful, but this is where your analytical skills come in to play. Take class seriously, don't fall behind and you will do well.

Took online. Heavy book use and assignments are laid out but mixup with due dates caused some confusion for students. Prof responds quickly but refers to tutoring. The midterm and final reviews were not very helpful but this is where your analytical skills step in. Take seriously and you will do well.

This professor quickly graded papers and was very friendly in all email correspondence. He took the time to make sure all of my concerns/questions were addressed. However, he made the course tough for a very specific reason. It was because he wants to make sure we exercise our critical thinking skills.

I was a little leary of taking this course on line but I did and made a B. There were only 2 tests, midterm and final. As long as you do the homework you will do well on the tests. He was very lenient with late work, which is a big plus for us full-time workers.

You need to read the book. This is a hard class and I busted but and picked my brain but got an "A" . I bombed both test but got 100's on all the work assigned. He didn't help at all only directed me to someone else. I think some people are good at this and some people aren't. And luckily I picked up the programming part.

AVOID TAKING THIS CLASS. The instructor is not very helpful and his test reviews are NOT CLEAR! They are 3-4 word phrases listed and sometimes have nothing to do with the test. Homework is very hard and he just refers you to the tutor. Although if you do his assignments and fail the tests you can still pass. Wouldn't recommend him to anyone anyway!
