Wonderful professor and inspirational woman. I loved her class. She's smart, funny, and passionate. Class isn't easy but worth taking it. She is not anti male or anti White people. She's just very big on social justice and women's rights.

She makes the class seem like it will be a lot of work but she usually changes the syllabus because of time constraints and the amount of work she has to grade. Usually she's behind on her lectures and ends up talking about subjects not related to the class but I definitely learned a lot.

Comment:
Chatterjee is kind of awful. She is very unclear about what she wants for papers and projects. The first couple weeks are guessing her expectations... She is rude to students and interrupts them. She has a ridiculous grading scale, where she thinks a 94 is an A-. She is a super feminist and only likes students who agree with her.

This class will not be as hard as she makes it seems. 6 homeworks out of the ten weeks, they're simple. 2 quizzes on key terms, and a group project. The readings can get heavy but just try to keep on track until after the second quiz. After that, you wont be tested on them. For the project, she looks for quantity. She seems intense but she's cool.

You dnt get any tests or final just work and if u work hard and bring ur best effort ull get an A. coming to discussion was very chill. I recommend this class u learn a lot and can leave with a new perspective. She is very nice and with time u get to really like her =

You dnt have to buy a book, the readings are online...you have no midterm, 2 tests, 6 hw outlines and a 9 people group project...hard to get an A coz its 95%,but easy to get a B and if u work hard u can get an A-.she is nice, but she can be arrogant and cold, you have to come 2class EVERY time or you lose a lot of points and u need to buy a clicker

Her class is demanding but flexible. She is fair and open-minded. Her views may deviate from mainstream American norms, but they are well-informed and allow us to hear another side of most of the stories that are very much too simplistic especially in the media. If you don't want to work hard or is not open-minded, no offense, don't take the class.

I did NOT want to take this class at all. But she isn't a bad professor. She is nice and is fair. Just do what she tells you to do, do the readings, don't suck at life and you'll pass with an A. =P

Professor Chatterjee is an intense teacher but I liked her a lot. I think she is misunderstood due to cultural differences, however she is very nice, fair and helpful if you take the time to get to know her and show interest in the class. Personally, I was very happy with her class. Two thumbs up!!

Professor Chatterjee is probably one of the most narrow-minded teachers I have ever come into contact with. It almost seems like she believes that her students are still in grade school. She restricts cell phones, lap tops, and even looking at the person next to you (to an extent). Do not take her class!

If you are male or not a minority, avoid this professor at all costs! She will constantly interupt any student who expresses opposing views when talking to her. Although she is passionate about the subject, she is ridiculously close-minded and hard to get along wiht.

She is so unapproachable and she's way too set in her thinking. She has no real world experience, only academic experience on women's issues, so she thinks she automatically knows everything. If you don't agree with her opinion, she'll make you feel stupid...really really stupid. If you're a man or white, I don't suggest you take her.

Shes not a bad professor. She is bias though and her main message is that "everything is the whites fault." Unless you are a minority and agree with her views she will constantly interupt you.

Prof Chatterjee was way too set in her thinking. If she saw one view, she would smother students expressing the opposite view. She likes to interrupt students a LOT - making it hard to say more than a few words. Teaching teams were assigned, but very few teams actually finished their presentations because of interruptions.

Comment:
Horrible person. Not straight on facts, believes government should provide EVERYTHING for everyone. Basic message "white people suck." She had the class "teach" instead of her, but you can't get two words in without her interrupting for 30 minutes. Beware.
