Comment:
Professor Demers is very sweet. The lectures could be dry sometimes but she was always available for questions after class. Our class had to move online because of the pandemic and she adapted the lectures very well. Her exams are doable if you study. B is highly achievable.

Fanny is alright as a teacher and it's fairly easy to get a good mark if you put the work in. The other thing that really bothered me is that her expectations were a bit unclear. There were a lot of last minute requirements added to my group project that wasn't made clear in the beginning.

This class was more like 4905 than helping us prepare for it. she used contradictions in our meeting and did not provide any good feedback on how to improve our model.

Take her class and you will not regret it. She is very helpful and the assignments are very easy. She is just AMAZING! We had no midterm or final exam for this course, there are 4 assignments (2 research and 2 Econometrics), 1 policy proposal, 1 presentation(optional), 1 Draft, 1 Final paper.

She was a great professor. She could simplify a really tough problem in a way that made you understand it really fast. She's very responsive to any questions you have, by email or in person. It's very clear that she's passionate. Obviously, it's dry material and you have to work for it, but she did a good job of making it "less boring" and less dry

She is not that bad but not good either. She is friendly and helpful but she can't explain stuff very well. Her midterms and exams are unpredictable. They don't really reflect what you learn in class.

Comment:
Speaks unclearly & is difficult to listen to & is very dull. She just stands up & talks & does no questions in class / textbook so you don't know what to expect. She marks very hard with barely any part marks available. The textbook is the only way to survive with her! She also isn't willing to go into detail when you ask for help on a question.

Just follow the slides as she basically only reads them out in the class. Those slides and descriptions are enough to get you an A in exam

Comment:
Attending class is useless, slides are pointless and she cannot explain them. She cannot convey a whole thought without digressing. Must read textbook and teach yourself to pass. Midterm and exam arent too bad but assignments are unreal. Avoid if you can but survival is possible.

One thing that really ticked me off is that she said that we would have to memorize formulas, than it turned out they were given to us, so it was like spending half the time sutdying for nothing. Classes are pretty much useless, but studying slides and past assignments/midterm helped.

Get her handouts and her assigments [which aren't marked]-- they will be your way to do well in this course. While her handouts are very precise and helpful, she is the opposite, kind of round about in the way she lectures and explains things. Tries to help you, though.

Sometime she is difficult to follow but overall she is a great prof and gives out useful handout. In order to enjoy her class more, you have to prepare your own notes and compare yours with her. Once you study both sets of notes, you will be alright!

You need to be in her face to get good a grade, a friend and I did course and I worked harder and had to teach my friend, but since I didn't go "talk" to her I ended up with a C and friend ended up with a B. Felt mark was based NOT on final but how you did during term, didn't get back final exam..:|
