Comment:
Robson does not have lecture plans or any form of criteria for the content of this course. Participation plays a huge role and most students fail that portion of their grade, even if they have good attendance. Do not take this course if you don't already know about Indigenous issues. Your final grade is pretty much an opinion!

No longer the course coordinator, should of stepped down long ago. Lectures are boring and you will gain nothing from them. Goes on and on about random stories that in his mind has some philosophical teaching value but in reality it's just trash for your mind. He's knowledgeable about the subject but has no idea how to teach. Learn on your own.

Good instructor. Doesn't really use Blackboard at all; grades on a curve. Big semester-long group project. BE CAREFUL ON THE BIBLIOGRAPHY. MC tests, drops lowest score. Lectures are very precise and informative. Gave cheaper text alternative. Understands you're on a budget. Ask about 'the sarcophagus of ancient wisdom' on the first day of class ;)

Professor Robson is an awesome professor. He's very caring and establishes a great rapport with his students. He's a tough grader, but only because he expects a lot from his students and knows that we can produce something great if we try. He knows every student by name in a 100+ student class and values everyone's opinions.

Robson is a good teacher. You have to keep in mind that he teaches indigenous people, and his class is suited for indigenous needs. Being a white person means the class will be harder -- and that's totally acceptable. He's funny, down to earth, and very understanding about deadlines. If you get to know him, he's a great professor.

Comment:
His classes are academic suicide, no matter what, 79 is the highest grade attainable. He seems good at first but he recycles the same ideas and opinions over and over. His opinions are all that matter, not facts. Narcissistic and often instigates class to compliment him as "better than other professors." He is an obstacle to true Native Studies!

Marks weren't what I was used to, but I actually didn't mind. The class content made up for it - Robson was a blast. I had a bunch of family stuff hit the fan that semester, and he was super kind and accommodating about it. Hope to take more classes with him!

Robson is hilarious. I never come out of his class without learning anything. He is very passionate about his job. His teaching style is good, all over the place sometimes. Hard marker, but worth the knowledge. Expect 10% less than what you would typically get in a class. Recommend Intro to Indigenous Learning.

I was SOOO excited to take the class....I'm a honour roll kinda gal.. high marks all around. His marks are based on SKIN colour, and not quality! Worst Prof i've ever hard... doesn't stay on topic... NEVER take his class.. it's about his OPINION and not FACT!

Classes got of topic a lot. Spend a lot of time teaching like this was a geography class. For anyone who has other experience with indigenous or aboriginal studies I would strongly NOT recommend this class. Felt graded according to my skin colour.

I am a non-aboriginal student and did well in this class, found other comments on here about skin color surprising. I learned a lot from Prof. Robson and appreciated his insight. He encouraged us to think critically!

Interesting lectures & easy class but doesn't matter how hard you work, marks will be low, unfair & unjustified. Prof has a personal issue with high grades & rolls his eyes if you ask for a grading rubric. Assignments & exams are open to his interpretation so difficult to challenge the mark. Thinks having a class average in the 60's is good. Avoid!

Horrible Professor who favours students and basis grades on skin colour. Dislikes white people and has nothing good to say about them and refuses to give non-aboriginal students the mark they deserve. If you are aboriginal, I suggest taking this class for an easy a, if non-aboriginal, its academic suicide
