Will never take one his classes again. Lectures extremely dry and boring. Loves to ramble. No textbook but lots of PDF documents to read. Grading system is tougher than any class, an A+ is 98-100%. Did not learn one useful thing. Easily the worst class I have ever taken. Attendance isnt mandatory but participation may boost your grade, B to B+.

Professor Latham definitely knows what hes talking about but I would not take one of his classes again. His grading system is about 10% higher than UofCs 4.0 grading system. He also makes you read lots of articles, so get ready for that. I would not recommend this class unless you absolutely have to take it.

Most useless class ever. I did not obtain any relevant information whatsoever and had to work harder to maintain the impossible grade scale than I did for my actual major. Prof does not care about his students doing well or actually being engaged in the class and it shows. No material or lectures at all, just readings and discussions.

this class is easily the hardest Ive taken all year. The grading system is near impossible to do well at all and this prof is absolutely useless. I went to him and the TA for help 4 times on my paper and still didnt do as good as I hoped which makes no sense if I integrated all the suggestions. Save yourself the headache and take another class

Easy class, PDF readings, 1 take-home midterm, 2 papers of 1300 words, 1 scheduled final. Lectures were boring, no powerpoint or D2L, just chatting. I didn't attend a single tutorial so I can't say much about that. Do the readings once in a while, attend class once a week and you will pass.

Good guy. Has the quirky philosophy prof vibe so you know he's legit. Grades fair. Workload is decent and really only requires short readings (which he goes over in class anyways). Recommend to take any class he teaches!

I had horrible attendance due to illness and was still able to get an acceptable grade because i followed and did research on the very popular concepts/theories in this course. No textbook, he posts all readings online which is awesome $$$ wise. He is super responsive to emails and grades fairly. I will take a class with him again.

Latham is an adorable old British man. So sweet and passionate about the material. There are 3 papers, all testing is written work. In-class discussion really helps with understanding concepts and theories. My only complaint is his grade scale, a 89% is only a B+ so its hard to get an A. Never attended a single tutorial so I cannot speak for those

Hes a nice enough guy but his classes are so boring. I truly hate philosophy now. His grade scale makes it next to impossible to do well. And hes such an awkward bloke, I felt like an idiot asking him questions about the boring material. The students commandeer the lectures, I only go for participation.

Good at keeping class discussion on track, good sense of time. Requires very high scores to get an A (94), but he boosts your grade up one step with regular participation. Your best chance for an A unless you're a stellar writer is to get A-s on the papers and get it boosted to an A by going to lectures

Great class, although it can be a tough subject at times. Mr. Latham is very helpful and will make time to explain course material if you just ask. Sometimes it can be hard to follow along in lectures because Mr. Latham can be monotone. Super helpful if you read the assigned texts before class each day, make sure u like the topic before enrolling

The book was made up of readings that were interesting. It was sold at the Bound and Copied book store. Cheap. Noa made the discussions of subject matter interesting.

Most of the lecture time is taken up by a few students discussing their opinion of the required readings, where as the literal concepts are never really discussed, making the papers a little challenging. The papers and exams are marked pretty fairly and maybe even generously.

Good Lord don't take this class unless you absolutely have to. Nothing against Noa, he's super nice and helpful, but the class is sooo boring and Noa's voice will definitely put you to sleep. You spend 80% of lecture time listening to other students talk since Noa asks a lot of questions, which is pretty annoying. Papers are marked quite hard too.

Noa is definitely very knowledgable in lecture. Even tho others found the course boring I thought it was totally interesting. He always has new things to talk about and makes many attempts to get you to talk. If you talk during lectures you will get your final mark boosted up! There are 2 papers 1 final 1 midterm but they are all take home!

I found this class extremely boring. I realized half way through the semester that there was literally no point in going because he would just discuss EXACTLY what was in the readings and students would give examples that were taken from the reading. It made no sense to me why I was there. Everything was take home, which I loved!
