I had him a few years ago, and if I knew about this site I might have given him a bad rating, but looking back, this guy is awesome. "He doesn't care about students" - Why should he? He is not your babysitter. I think he is suited for more mature audiences. His rants? The best. I wish I could take him again and really appreciate his character.

The state of Mr. Williams class is of peace, good will, and preservation. Although his tone of voice may come across as sarcastic, he is actually a genuine and caring individual who will do what he can to help you succeed. He is not a hard marker, his lectures are clear and relevant, and he helps a lot with study hints for the exam. He's awesome.

A very challenging professor with a very demanding list of reading materials. But if one manages to pull through, the course is one of the most intellectually rewarding seminars that the poli sci department has to offer. He is not a prof you take because he is easy. He is a prof you take if you want to learn something.

Great prof. Sometime the lectures are a bit dry, but it's a straightforward and an interesting course. Funny guy, would highly recommend.

This profs name makes my skin crawl. I went to see him inquiring as to whether he could review a TA graded paper. Glen was hostile and condescending throughout the whole discussion- if I can really call it a discussion with the number of times I was cut off. This professor they type the tell you about in highschool that does not care. Avoid!

As a 3rd year student, I absolutely hated this class. He's not a bad lecturer, other than the fact that he's all over the place. But, he expected 1000 years of political history w/thesis and argument to be summarized in 1000 words with 4 external sources. Totally unreasonable. Maybe one focal point for 1000 words, but that one had way too many.

Haters gonna hate. This man, and the course he taught me, are brilliant. He brings clarity to the great sweep of world history from 1500 onward. Glen expects a lot, hence the seemingly negative reviews given thus far. For anybody who's actually willing to put the time and effort into the course work, it will be the best class you ever had .

This name will forever haunt me for the rest of my life. He rushes through all of his lectures, leaving little to zero time for note-taking (the history of the world in 90 minutes?) Made me hate PoliSci altogether.

Glen is a decent Prof. I am a second year student taking his class and the readings are more than I have for most classes, and the textbooks are sooo boring. I like poli sci too so this was odd to me. I am a big fan of Canadian politics so obviously his opinions about NA politics affected how I liked the course. My TA was good which was nice.

Great professor. He is genuinely kind and accommodating and will provide guidance and clarification if you seek it. The subject matter can be dry if you aren't interested in it, however, and the course is content and readings heavy, but it is well worth it.

Really nice prof, easy to approach, really enthusiatic about course content. LOVE that he puts his slides and recordings online. However, course content is incredibly dry, however i appreciate profs enthusiasm. Apparently this course is to scare away first year poli sci students. If i dont fail my final, i'd really recommend this course :)

Very hard to follow what he says in lecture, however he does upload his powerpoint slides and lecture audio online. Essays are a challenge. Should avoid unless you are a daring individual.

I absolutely disagree with what I've read on here so far. I have a class with him at 8:30 am and I make sure that I go every week. He's engaging and excited about what he's teaching, even if it's a dull subject manner. He also records all of his lectures if you do miss the class. If you're interested in PolSci & willing to work, TAKE HIS CLASS!

Avoid this professor at all costs. This class will give you nothing more than a headache you don't want or deserve. The reading expectations are insane, if you add together all my other fourth year classes it is still about 30% more. Paper assignments have zero guidance, and his marking follows a ridiculous scheme that he decides during marking.

Serious disaster of a prof. Spews out stuff in class you don't need to know for the final. Gives you no guidance. Answers none of your questions. Is really rude when you try go one-on-one talk to him about a problem. Unfair marker on final especially.

Seriously, i cant believe how terrible this guy is! Its really a joke, like everyday I wonder where the hell Ashton is cause we HAVE to be being PUNKED!!! I can't believe he is still employed, his lectures are alot of ranting, he covers too much in too little detail.

He is crazy and very rude one on one. I went to discuss my paper mark with him in his house hours and I've never met such an argumentative, egotistical jerk in my life. He cut me off, wouldn't let me voice my opinion, told me i was no where near an "A" student and was essentially stupid cause I couldn't "follow the assignment". REALLY rude.

Hard marker, fast talker. This class was interesting but difficult to follow sometimes. A lot of unneeded info in the lectures, extremely tough midterm. The final exam seemed fairly easy but unclear and vague in terms of instructions and expectations.
