Solid professor. Lots of reading, but definitely do-able. The only issue was he gave back our work incredibly late. For example, I got my midterm grade back with feedback on the last day of class. Very intelligent professor. He knows what he is doing. Just stay on top of assignments and do the work.

The sweetest person you will ever meet. The class is mostly discussion and TONS of reading so just get ready to read. He will take absolutely forever to grade things, but he's really thorough and gives good feedback. Tbh you can skip like half of the readings and still get an A. Just know how to write and argue for the final.

Dr. Lassiter (Lassie) will make you work for you grade, but he is a kind, humorous man. This class is mainly discussion-based, so he doesn't lecture often, but when he does, take notes. If he points out specific page numbers or quotes, note them. The midterm is entirely writing and the final paper requires an extensive amount of work.

Dr. Lassiter is a professor that is easy to respect, but sometimes a little difficult to understand. HON 101 is generally considered a weed-out class for the program. Dr. Lassiter is a lenient grader. You just have to put in a ton of effort to show that you know your stuff. The class is discussion based. Do not skip (ever!), and do the reading!

Dr. Lassiter is a wonderful man, and since this class is discussion-based, he doesn't lecture much. However, he is helpful and kind, and tries really hard to be fair and clear. Unfortunately, he has trouble getting grades in and assigns difficult readings. I never got a grade back for my final, but I learned a lot. Also, he is definitely immortal.

Lassie is great! He tends to be very passionate about the history of the subject and can overtake the discussion but he helps you to understand everything you need for the papers and exams. Dont get behind in your reading. Definitely do the reading!!! Ask questions, go to class, you can do it. Yes, it will be hard but it is worth it.

Honors is obviously going to be hard. But Lassiter makes it fun and leads discussion on if there is a lull. I always learn interesting things in the class.

Dr. Lassiter genuinely cared about what he was teaching about. However, he is so passionate that he will talk about one thing for the whole 50 minute lecture. His lectures are all over the place and very hard to comprehend. If you read, you will pass the pop quizzes. However, if you don't, prepare to fail.

If you do the reading you will do okay. If you dont read, you will fail. He is very passionate about what he is teaching, but can be very boring and hard to hear. He will not put in grades which is extremely frustrating. For example, I am trying to tranfer and since he wont put in the grades I might not be able to go. Prepare for pop quizzes.

Tests include a lot of information. Grades are not entered into canvas and you won't know your grade until the very last possible day. Ridiculous not knowing all semester how you are doing.

Dr. Lassiter is clearly passionate about the subject of history. He is somewhat of a tough grader and he does not enter grades into Canvas at all. He loves to have conversation and is overall a very nice teacher. I personally just like to know my grades throughout the semester. Tests in his class also cover a TON of content.

Lassiter is a great guy. His class is not difficult but you do proably need to read because he has a pop quiz every couple days along with announced quizzes. His tests have a lot of information and he doesnt put grades in until the last week of school but I would still recommend.

I had him for HON 101 and it was great. He is so nice and very clear about his expectations. He is a tough grader, but always fair. If you go to his office hours he will help you understand the content better. I always looked forward to his class. It is very reading heavy, but you learn a ton!

He really isn't that hard. He gives a short two question quiz every class on the reading that was due. Its on paper so make sure that you copy down the questions afterwards for studying for the test. He can ramble on and talk very slowly, but you can tell he's passionate.

He takes forever to return grades, most of the teaching was done by myself outside of class, tests are all short-answer/essay and take a good bit of studying, tough grader. This class is ridiculous if you are not a history major, so I wouldn't recommend if it is just for gen-ed. Be prepared to not receive any grades back until the end of class

Great professor that's easy to respect, but be ready to read (a lot). Attendance isn't technically mandatory, but daily quizzes are 15% of your grade and the class covers 1,000 years in a semester, so missing a day of class will hurt your test grade by at least 5-10 points.

Comment:
He gives detailed notes for assignments which are reading assignments that could be as long as 20 pages for each class meeting. You only have 2 exams and 1 paper to write for this class but it feels like it takes forever for you to get a grade back on these assignments. He is a very nice man, but I would not recommend the course.
