Dr. DeVries is a sweet person! He is really passionate about history and that shines through in every class he teaches. This class was very reading heavy, but it was worth it. Dr. DeVries gave great feedback on all of the weekly papers and was more than understanding when we could not get the papers turned in on time.

caring and thoughtful professor. two papers weighted greater than the midterm or final and a rewrite for both, two map quizzes (must be passed), five responses from activities on campus plus five more for extra credit. The midterm and final are ten questions each, study and you will pass.

Methods is a class that teaches you how to write and it's a paper-based class. Prof DeVries will rip apart your first draft, but it's for the experience. He's always available via email and will let you re-write every paper. That said, it can take awhile to get revisions back. Amazing professor, great class.

One of my favorite professors. Hilarious guy who is very easy going. Tests and quizzes are simple and you can take them until you pass. You only have to write a few papers that he clearly explains and makes easy to get an A. The rest of grades are to watch movies and write up on current events. Too easy and entertaining guy

I took no notes for this class. I did not pay attention to one single lecture, literally not one. I have no idea what this class was about. His tests are ridiculously easy and the final is take home. I got a B, it was awesome.

Very funny and chatty guy. Class can be somewhat boring but the assignments are clearly spelled out and very easy. One paper at the end of the year and the tests are extremely doable. Good class and cool guy.

Dr. DeVries is a very funny guy that has a passion for what he teaches. That being said, his class can be very boring and you may miss things. He hands out a study guide before all his tests, and you just have to find the answers in the book and you will get an A easily. He does have three papers which he grades toughly; it is not hard to get an A.

He is the man! The only problem about his class was that for the tests you really have to look up all the terms yourself, which takes a lot of time and effort. But other than this he is def one of the best teachers and is funny. I would love to take him again and if you can take him do it
