If it's Byrd vs. Slaughter -- please pick Byrd. He's a really helpful teacher. He gave a short test every wek, along with a two-page paper. It's easy work and more understandable and makes more sense than anything Slaughter ever gave out.

Easy GE course! Great fun to watch movies in class and critically evaluate them in a review. His tests are on the reading material in the text so reading the text is a must. Class notes aren't so vital. His class is fun and casual. I highly recommend taking this course from Professor Byrd!

Useless teacher. Tests us on a book that he does not teach in class. Tests are a bit hard and the questions are specific. Kind of pathetic when you think about it. I guess he is too lazy to actually teach. All you hear is feedback from peoples phone. Bring headache pills. Gives tests he does not prepare you for at end of class when you are tired!

Great professor, tests are kinda difficult, you really have to read and outline the chapters. He will NOT go over any of the readings in class. Oh, and "Citizen Kane" is one of the most awesome movies ever!

Tests are right from the reading--he does not read to you in class--expects you to do that on your own--YEAH!!!! Great guy! Great teaching method--you learn and don't even realize it!! Always willing to meet with students for help or just fun conversation. Lets class get spirited with conversation!! Nice sense of humor too:-)

History of film is a great class, where you mostly watch movies. However the writing load is heavy 4 themes required. The tests aren't that easy, but he grades on a curve. This class was a lot of fun.

nice guy, but he doesn't teach! you take tests on material that he NEVER talks about, only based on what you have read. he shows the films, makes you write papers on them, but the sources from the papers come from .com websites!
