I took Hanson's class twice, I failed the first time because I did not take any of the quiz serious. The quizzes are very important to get good grades in. He tends to go over the answers before so they are pretty easy just make sure you memorize them. The answers also show up on the exams. Overall I took it again and got a B.

Dr. Hanson's class will change your life (or at least shake it up a bit). He's what you'd think a real philosopher ought to be. It all sound super abstract but he makes philosophy very preactical and relavant.

Dr. Hanson's classes are not you typical cookie cutter class. He doesn't just review some textbook chapter. His lectures really get you thinking about the way you're living. I've taken him twice and will take him again.

He was so sweet. He cares about what he teaches and wants to make sure his students are learning. His lectures are very important, so not showing up for one class can make it difficult to pass quizzes because quizzes are always on his lectures and they are weekly. If you show up to all classes and take notes, the class is an easy A.

Hanson is a very eccentric lecturer but his stories are always laced with the lesson he's trying to teach for that day. Always pay attention to what he writes on the board because 9/10 it's going to be on a quiz or the midterm/final exams. He's also a very patient man and will answer the same question multiple times because he values his students.

Dr. Hanson's Social/Political philosophy class was amazing! I'm a political science major and Hanson's class has convinced me to add a philosophy minor. He's passionate about philosophy. He gives a short quiz each week, 3 tests and 5 short opinion papers. I'll definitely take him again.

Hanson was such a good professor who was very passionate about philosophy. He makes the class better because he uses real life stories and adds some humor to it. There are quizzes every week and two essays for the midterm and final but this class was relatively easy. Definitely would take him again.

Dr. Hanson is not just another charismatic professor, nor is he the typical professor of Philosophy with his head in the clouds. Hanson is sweet, caring, funny, and most of all, his lectures and his own philosophy are grounded in true reality. He presents the thought of each thinker fully and carefully. My life is better for having taken his class.

Philosophy with Hanson was enjoyable and inspirational. Grading was simple, 2 exams and 10 quizzes that totaled to 150pts. He won't be teaching Philosophy again as he's retiring soon, but I recommend him for any other class he's offering. He's passionate about what he teaches and wants you to pass, you just gotta put in some work.

I had no real idea what philosophy would be, but I love this class. I guess I thought that it would be super abstract, but the subject is actually very practical to everyday life. Very good professor.

If you're wondering about taking Hanson's class...... you need to take Hanson. He is the sweetest, most passionate and most knowledgable teacher on his subject. He is genuine and you will take away so much from his class. 11/10 would recommend and take again. He is a gem of Fullerton College.

Literally have to attend every single class because he draws these little figures on the board that you have to memorize for all the quizzes. Makes you write 2 essays and only takes 1 that he picks the day its due. You can't google any of this stuff so make sure you show up. Midterm and final are in class essays

A great professor! He takes topics that could be super abstract and makes them very clear. A tough grader, but fair. Do the quizzes and the papers. Do not expect an easy A, but do expect a great experience.
