Comment:
Class is a joke. He is completely incomprehensible. You can tell he's smart but he just can't articulate himself well. He focuses on the most insignificant things and penalizes students for having any previous knowledge/understanding of the readings because they have "preconceived notions". Class was so frustrating that I just stopped going.

Comment:
Dr. Eden's class is unnecessarily and irrationally difficult. His lectures are incomprehensible and his tests would be laughable if you didn't actually have to take them. They are literally based on petty memorization. Five final papers are assigned at the end of the semester and are graded irrationally harshly. Avoid this professor at all costs.

Comment:
An egomaniac, his incomprehensible monologues during our Constitution class were pointless and sometimes quite inappropriate. We never once actually looked at the Constitition. Our grades were based off 4 end of the year papers despite putting in hours a week on disorganized quizzes.

Great man and great teacher. Dr. Eden is disfavored usually because he is not easy.

Comment:
Eden is a dear soul and quite brilliant, but is also terribly hard to understand and madly disorganized. You never follow the syllabus, so all your readings might as well be random for all the good they do you in class. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes to figure out why one of his monologue tangents matter to class. Very obscure.

Dr. Eden cares about students and might be brilliant. I can't be certain, though, as any helpful nuggets of insight were buried under tangents and tertiary minutiae. He will teach you how to read a text closely. Avoid if you dislike having to figure out what tiny spot in your professor's brain is itching, just so you can scratch it.

Genius but very difficult to understand. Lectures resemble a genius talking to himself. I wish him the best of health.

source of my hatred of the movie "hoosiers". grading of papers was formulaic and confusing (and tougher than many english profs for punctuation, grammar, etc). one of the main reasons i decided not to pursue a major in american studies.

Dr. Eden is a genius. He is not an excellent teacher, however. His gift seems to be in writing. His classes are often the ramblings of a genius mind and sometimes incomprehensible. He did teach me to read with extreme care and understanding.

Absolutely brilliant. I have never learned more from any man in my entire life. But if you don't care to think too much, you'll probably be confused to death. Morons need not apply.
