I thought he was a good professor, The assignments were challenging but rewarding in the end. His tests were easy. If you didn't pay attention to the class, then of course you wouldn't like his class. 2 tests, and 3 assignments. He gives the class a layout on how to approach his assignments and the textbook could help with that as well

Prof Helldorfer is honestly quite rude and condescending. He has a lot of experience and knows what he's talking about, but that's where the attitude comes from. I've seen him shame some kids really bad... Lectures are long and boring, no notes. 3 written assignments, midterm, and final. Make sure you show up, he's not understanding of absences

Although he seems like he does not care, he does. He has a huge heart and cares for his students and their future. His classes are challenging, and he challenges each student to think like a lawyer, and to move away from your comfort zone. If you want to succeed you should take his classes. You learn more than just the course load.

All around, he was very rude & condescending to many people in my class on different instances. Not helpful at all and made you feel dumb if you didn't understand something. The material he taught was clear cut and simple, whereas the homework (Briefs) and exams were tricky. Be wary of this professor.

This professor was rude, he would just talk and talk in the most monotone voice. He offers no extra help, his intro class was harder than it needed to be. He would give a lot of information with no review for midterm or final. he assigned 3 briefs that were graded harshly, which you had to figure out yourself how to write. Avoid taking if possible!

Very intimidating and I`ve seen him make many kids feel like idiots. But if you do your work and pay attention to his lectures you`ll end up with a good grade. He`s not very friendly either but overall the work is not difficult.

He can be very rude and doesn't have much of a personality, but if you do your work well, you should get a decent grade. He'll say you you might not have what it takes to be a lawyer, but don't get intimidated. Oh and get him talking about his mock trial team and he'll get happy! As a legal major, you can't avoid him--he's the head of the dept.

Horrible Professor. Has way to much ego and attitude for absolutely no reason. His midterms were easy, but his class in general is very boring and as a professor is very boring . No sense of personality what so ever. Missed one assignment because of a family issue and he wasn't understanding at all. DON'T TAKE HIM !

Very critical and the way he justifies his attitude is very unethical. The irony is that he preaches ethics.Even if you dont give a reason he will find something. Just hold your tongue, show up to class, and do the assignments on time and he will commend you for your effort with your grade. He is a fair grader.

Take good notes, and study them. He tells you everything you need to know in class you don't need the book. work hard on his class assignments, and do good on the two tests and you should get an easy A. not a very hard class, just pay attention. he can be rude at times if you ask a stupid question or you disrupt the class but it shouldn't bother u

Great Prof. He makes everything extremely clear, and teaches you everything you need to know. Just take good notes, study them, and work hard on the few assignments he gives you and its an easy A, the main problem i feel that most people have is that he doesn't take any B.S. and he calls students out sometimes rudely in class, but it shouldnt matter

Enjoyed this class very much. Make sure you actually know what you're talking about, he's very knowledgeable. You will learn a lot about what really goes on in the law field. He's difficult when it comes to what he wants, if he says keep it concise..keep it concise! Overall very good professor. I worked hard and got an A.

He's the head of the legal dept for a reason - he's smart and a hard professor. I took his class in summer 2007 and learned a lot. You cannot be lazy and you cannot fool him in thinking that you're doing the work when you're not - he's not stupid. I worked hard and got an A. His class taught me the basics of tort law which was helpful in la school.

Best prof @ SJU esp in Legal Studies. I never missed a class because he gives a lot of notes but also because he is very well informed no wonder he is the head of the dept. Take good notes and pay attention youll have no prob. One thing that annoyed me was his obvious preference for those in his Mock Trial but aside from that one of my best prof!

Relax freshmen. He just wants to weed out the weak from the strong. Insurance is a great course and he makes sure you understand everything before moving onto a new topic. He's very helpful and really is very intelligent. Just pray mock trial does well so you can miss a few classes

You don't actually LEARN anything in his class, he just talks for an hour and half straight. Get your act together when you're in his class or he'll embarrass you incredibly, especially when you ask "stupid" questions. 3 papers to write - no hw or quizzes. The textbook is a WASTE do not buy - the midterm/final is what's in your notes.
