Good professor. Actually a very inspirational professor. I would say that if you put in the work you will do well in the class. I found him to be a mentor and an educator. Put in the work and you will get the appropriate grade. Not tough but not very hard either.

One of the most enthusiastic classes I took at St. Johns University. His passion seeps through this mans pores. The class was mostly hand outs and notes that you would have to re-read in order to pass the exams. Prof Scott is a human being as much as he is an educator. Still remember him long after I graduated a few years ago.

Easy A teacher as long as you do your work in the class. Gives a lot of vocab but gives a review of things you have to know for the test and final is open book which really helps your grade a lot. Good teacher to take and would certainly take again !

Professor Scott is a great person but his lectures are long and boring. He jumps from topic to topic and his tests are kind of hard. But the last 2 tests were take home. If you ask for help, he's there. He doesn't take attendance either.

Seems like an easy class at first but as the semester rolls on, his teaching becomes unclear and unorganized. His notes are all over the place, he doesn't know how to work a computer since half the class was the I.T. guys trying to figure out what he wanted on the board, and I couldn't understand him half the time. Nice guy, wish he was better.

OMG! I've had classes where I wrote novels for homework, but this one is very special. I cannot believe that he's teaching undergrad students. Yes, he is nice and sincere, but his methods of teaching are confusing and disorienting. His essay homework are from the video that you watch. IF YOU'RE NOT A GOOD NOTE TAKER, DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS!!!

Took 3 hour class once a week. Professor is very enthusiastic and interested class topic(s). Very sweet and sincere man. Uses power points and videos during lectures. Papers are weekly, require much research and citations; they're not a joke. Very critical on grading and review. Study for exams; they're no joke either. Easy course if you try hard.

Prof. Scott is truly a sincere person, who shares a wealth of knowlege from his experiences a Counselor. His is licensed as a LCSW and practiced counseling. Keep in mind he only is trying to mold you and shape you into an adult who is ready for the workplace and your future endeavors. Would take this class again if I could.

Addition to 3/11/13 comments: Update, the average for the Mid-Term was 64% and we have to retake the exam again. With that in mind, do not study from the txtbook, use your notes, his many, many handouts and the internet to research terms (i.e.-androgynous, encopretic, encopresis, enuresis, Ach, NIMBY, etc.) Good luck future PSY Abnormal Students...

Prof. Scott is a great and caring professor. However (caveat), his teachings and method can be quite intense as well as requiring additional research that is usually not included with the required textbook for class. Perhaps, the terms and nomenclature he requests that you research for your own benefit, could be in the "Recommended Reading".

This professors rating may be a bit misleading. I say this because I am currently in his class right now and yes, he is a nice man, he does care. HOWEVER, he is very hard to understand, barely speaks loud enough for you to hear what he is saying, and in my eyes this is a self-taught class. Not sure what grade I'll get, hopefully it works out

Professor Scott is one of the most caring professors in the University. The Course is loaded with several tests and papers but most of the tests were open book or to take home. He is very passionate about what he does and he wants his students to do suceed. If you have the chance to take him hes a must. Guaranteed atleast a B if you show effort.

I actually found the papers to be very therapeutic experiences, because he allows you to be poetic and use personal experiences in your writing. It's a very helpful method to get stuff out, and you'll get to know yourself sooo much better! Take him if you can! Highly recommended!! :)
