People say Dr. Hogan's class is a lot easier than it really is. Don't take it for an easy A, take good notes, participate in class, and review the slides he posts. He gives out review sheets before each exam, if you know everything on them you should be fine. Give yourself at least 2 days in advance to study. Even if facts sound useless, study them

helpful, very lenient but don't take advantage, funny!, understanding, kind hearted. tets are exactly what he says they are, the book isn't necessary but it is helpful and can lighten the load. not difficult just study for the tests (3 productive days before should do it), creates other assignments to help your grade.

This is probably the best professor I have ever had at St. John's. He really knows his history of psych and is passionate about it. You can tell he cares about his students too.

Nicest most understandable professor. I was never good at math and I received an A in the class. Understood him very well. He was very helpful. Tests are not cumulative. DEFINITELY TAKE HIM!

This class is boring but he is nice. Get the textbook because the exam is everything from his notes, lectures, and book. 2 exams, a final group paper, and a final. You have to study. Exams are not difficult. He curves based on class average.

Takes attendance depending on class size. A few mc tests and one paper, nothing major. He loves to talk so if you seem somewhat interested, and maybe raise your hand once in a while he will love you.

Excellent professor. He's very helpful and will spell out everything for you until you get it. He's extremely forgiving, as long as you show you're willing to learn and put in the work to get a good grade. We didn't use a book, his notes were more than adequate though. He gave us open-note tests and curved when people didn't do well. Take him!

Fantastic professor -- this guy will go down in history himself. Very kind and helpful. His tests are fairly easy and he gives a curve if nobody gets a hundred (although someone got 108% on his first midterm), but you have to study all of his lectures to ensure an A. I got by with the textbook but that was definitely the tough way to do it.

Dr. Hogan is the best! He can take a boring topic like history of psych and make it amusing. He is also a great person to go to for questions. He has a deep love for history and he is a kind and wonderful human being. One the best at SJU!

If Frank Caliendo was a professor, he would be Dr. Hogan. This guy is awesome, he will repeat and connect history so well that there is no way you can forget what he tells you. You will wonder at times if this is a history class or a psychology drama one. One of the best professors I have ever had, strongly recommend to any pyche majors out there!

Very helpful, posts power points online, tells really interesting stories. Midterm and final, term paper is 30% of grade. He writes profusely (e.j.: for encyclopedias) and is the president of division 1 of APA...he knows what he's talking about. Plagiarize and you fail! People have plagiarized from his own work.

SUCH A NICE MAN!!! He knows everything about psychology and shares it with the class, he is a great teacher. The tests are a bit hard, and sometimes they have nothing to do with what he told us to study, and to get a good grade on the paper thorough research is required. Highly recommended, he is really nice!!

This man LOVES the history of Psychology and it shows in his teaching. He is excellent and turns this dry topic into a memorable 19th century soap opera! His tests are stuck on names, but his grading is reasonable and he is very helpful. Take him for history if you can, you'll love it.

Read the text book and take extreamly good notes and you will do fine. Also gives a paper that is only 5 pages long. The text is boring so keep up with the reading. Overall, nice professor.

You learn so much from Professor Hogan and as long as you go to class (read the notes) or even just study the text book, you'll do great on his tests! Class is always interesting. 3 tests (final is not cumulative) anywhere from 50 to 70 questions per test. I loved this class! Makes me want to pursue psychology!
