This professor is so nice! I feel like some people took advantage of him (he's elderly), which is rude. As long as you show up and take comprehensive notes then you'll do great!

Lots of interesting things to say but very disorganized and all of his handouts are >20 years old. Very unclear syllabus. But easy tests if you write notes and read the sections from the book that he tells you to read. He goes over everything you need to know for the test so it is an easy A. Extra credit almost every day too. No homework, 1 paper

Professor Laughlin is an elderly man, but I was surprised that he could articulate a lecture so well. Don't buy the book. just listen, take notes, and review notes in order to get an A. I learned a lot about sociology from being in this class. GREAT guest speakers! If you are going to take a summer class and need the SL requirement TAKE THIS CLASS!

This class was a waste of time. I don't feel like I really learned anything. We watched a lot of really old videos and he would tell us what to write down as definitions. We always got out early and had no homework, but if I am paying this much to go to USF I expect a real class, this was not that. Also half the class failed the midterm.

My English teacher, football coach and speech team coach in high school 40 years ago. Without a doubt THE finest teacher I have ever had. Intense interest in character development of students was evident and has been sustained in publication history. Animated, engaging, inspirational. Take any class you can from this guy.

Great professor, if you put in a little effort it's easy to get an A. I had him for Social Issues/Personal and Community Health and it was a really interesting class. Definitely take his class if you get a chance!

Substance abuse class was super easy. Did not put in any effort and got an A in the class. Very old man, but smart teacher. Attendance is not mandatory. One test, one paper, and one final, all are super easy! Very nice man. guest lectures are interesting. Take this class.

I took Laughlin for Social Issues and he was a great professor. He's very clear on his lectures and always gives examples of each, sometimes from personal life experiences. The only thing is his midterms/finals can be a bit difficult, but still reasonable. Overall great professor though.
