Strathearn is a challenging though fair professor. His lectures are straight out of the textbook, so you can just read the book if you don't want to pay attention. Homework isn't too bad, and he prepares you very well for exams. The "stupid questions" rule is that you shouldn't wait till later in the lecture to ask the question.

I would 100% not recommend taking his class. He is not understand at all and will not help you. He said in our first zoom class that there are "stupid questions". Why would anyone want to ask him a question when saying that? I sent him an email asking about a a quiz and he never responded. I had to email him again and he told me I was irresponsible

He's extremely strict, isn't clear about the material, and only teaches for money rather than the wellbeing of the students. He constantly makes students uncomfortable and makes life a living hell. I genuinely like chemistry but this guy made me absolutely hate it. You know its a bad class when more than half the class transfers the first week.

U know it's the professor when almost all of the class is having difficulties with the subject that is being taught&this is a really big issue bc a lot of us go to class to get taught by people who ARE being PAID to teach. This professor relies too much on online homework to teach us&he yells at us the students when questions are asked

I took his chem 10 class last fall. He offers extra credit assignments and canceles lowest quizes and test. He begs you to go to office hours and if you do hell like you more and help you get a good grade. I got an A with only studying out of the book once. Hes a good teacher who wants you to pass

He was one of my favorite professors. He's pretty funny and isn't too difficult if you just study and do the homework. He has lots of materials available to you to study for the tests. He jokes around a lot but it makes the lectures more interesting. I would recommend him to people that aren't offended by everything.

Tough class, he likes to make jokes that arent funny and are rude. hes very strict don't ever show up late to labs hell just tell you to leave and embarrass you the next time he sees your early. Lots of reading and studying for exams and he gives you a practice exams and questions are similar, he gives you a pop quiz everyday before leaving class

Good teacher but you will not pass if you're lazy. Drops the lowest quizzes, test, and lab. Gives a lot of extra credit that can change your grade dramatically. Pay attention in class and do his online homework you will easily get an A. He even gives you a copy of old tests as a guide for the tests he gives. He's sarcastic but overall nice.

Great Teacher. All he wants from Chem9 students is participation. Go to his office hours, do the extra credit and you will get an A. Don't miss clasa on purpose. If you have a valid excuse he will work with you. He says it himself, if you're not a chem major, don't take Chem10 with him, he'll grill you. Ask a lot of questions and Chem9 will be fun!

I took is summer session and it was my first class tight out of high school.... He made me hate college right from the start.... Everyone's comments on here are the truth. You need to really work for your grade. At time he threatens to kick you out of the class if you cant answer his questions. ASK QUESTIONS... He wants participation! good luck!

Okay! If you its your first year in college, don't take his class... You have to read the book in order to understand what he's talking about. He gives a lot of extra credits so take advantages of it. He is going to help you if you come to his office hours. Just talk to him, and you'll be fine in class. I got A- (I didn't even try)

The way he grades pretty much ensures you a B as the highest grade possible. He mocked people within the first 10 mins of the first day and talks like he's going to either have an asthma attack or a heart attack. I do not recommend anyone take this if you plan to do well. 3hr classes + 3hr labs the next class is a recipe for disaster.

Worst teacher ever, his rude and always tries to make you feel bad in front of everyone. If you ask questions he will make fun of you and them answer it. I don't recommend anyone to take this class

Hes a cool teacher as long as you stay on his GOOD side, he can be annoying sometimes but overall helpful to most of the students, his tests are hard and unfair sometimes, and he is only nice to feamle students for some reason, calls on you and sometimes even embrasses some of his students sometimes which is not cool, overall he is not that good.

He is a very helpful teacher and yeah he try to be funny in the class, but he also try to educate his student and pass on his knowledge about Chemistry.. If you are lazy, I don't think you need to take his class.
