This is an interesting but esoteric class. He's very nice and clearly likes teaching. Make sure you do the readings because he expects questions and expects you to have some knowledge of political science theory.

Comment:
Prof. Grieco knows his stuff, which means he has a strong opinion regarding most discussions. Class participation matters, and know that a lot of work is required for your research paper. Make sure to meet with the TA -- he doesn't look at anything in terms of grading. The class is all about research, so if that's not your thing, don't take it.

This class is too hard to be considered an intro class, especially if you take it in your first semester of college. Tons of reading, regular NYTimes quizzes, and tough exams. Become friendly with your TA, and get as much help from him/her as you can. Grieco gives very boring lectures, fell asleep multiple times.

Professor Grieco cares about his students and is very accessible. His lectures are not very helpful though. Readings are manageable and overall workload fair.

A very good professor for freshmen seminar. A little long winder and technical at points but very eager to help students and does a good job of guiding students through the process or researching and writing or a long research paper.

A very helpful professor outside of class who tends to ramble in class. Likes to get very technical in seminar and encourages building a set of skill sets. Assigns a ridiculous amount of reading.

Boring boring man. Speaks in a monotone, makes you read way too many pages. Also makes you read the book that he co-authored which is awful. Stay away if you're not a polisci major

Awful, hard. Definitely not suitable for an intro class. Only take if you have LOTS of previous knowledge and a decent background in PoliSci. The readings answer to ongoing debates that are impossible to follow if you've never taken one. Too much material, too little time. On top of the million readings u have 2 read NYTimes, Quizzes once a week.

If you're not a history expert, the class can be difficult. Lots of reading, but sometimes interesting arguments in it. Does a good job emphasizing the main points he wants you to take from his lectures. Lots of opportunities to grow academically, although the TAs are basically in charge of grades.

Greico's IR class is worth taking, but don't expect an easy load or an easy A. There is a TON of reading and the grading is extremely stiff. The lectures are pretty interesting, but can be pretty boring if you aren't into it. The class will feel a lot like an econ/history course, only harder.

Grieco's class was one of my favorites last semester... there was a lot of reading but it was manageable. He was eager to speak to students during office hours and was very helpful.

REALLY awesome guy -- difficult class, but completely worth it. Not a *ton* of work, just complex ideas... makes you think -- brilliant prof, a leader in the field. Hilarious too (cabinet jokes, dogs, fast cars, its awesome)

Not a very demanding reading-list. The class discussions are relaxed. The most important thing that you take away from this professor is his advice on how to improve oneself. He can see your strengths and limitations; and can guide you to improve your weaknesses. He makes you a better academic.

Grieco is the man! The man with the master plan! My class is his biggest fan! I forgot which hand I had Jonny Chan (Rounders). Get past the volumes of reading and you'll love each class like it was a fine cabanet!
