I learned so much about political geography from Dr. Dahlman. His jokes are entertaining but most arent gut-busting. He doesnt take himself too seriously, but hes incredibly passionate about his research & teaching. There are map quizzes and 2 papers, but none of them were difficult. Youll need to attend class to have comprehensive notes.

I love Carl, this is the 2nd class I've taken of his. He's super funny, and he goes on tangents sometimes but he's super knowledgeable and clearly cares about his students' success. Sometimes he's a bit cynical, but he is one of the greatest professors I've had. He takes forever to grade, though.

Everyone should take any class that he teaches. He clearly cares about his students, he is so funny and he is really easy to talk to. He curves the tests but only if you go back and correct your mistakes. He takes the questions that were commonly missed, re teaches the concept, and gives points back. He really cares about his students success.

Dahlman is the man. Really interesting, super nice guy. Really knows his stuff, too. His lectures are pretty engaging. Class consists of a few map quizzes, 3 or 4 tests, and an 8-10 page paper about an international conflict. It's not hard, especially if you're an ITS major and have a base in politics and geography. For sure take him, he's a baller

GEO 205 with Dahlman my freshman year was the best class I've had at Miami. I am a Junior Entrepreneurship/Sustainability student and in classes throughout my time at Miami, for each of my majors, I have been a step ahead of my classmates because Dahlman explained so many relevant topics with such ease and clarity. Take notes and embrace his class

Dr. Dahlman is really funny and definitely an expert on political geography. The lectures sometimes seem to wander in topic but everything he says will definitely be on the exam so you should take careful notes and study hard. He is really interesting and is always willing to answer questions, but only by email because he never has office hours.

Dahlman is by far the best professor I will ever have. He made me fall in love with my major and Im inspired to take him every semester. He makes you work for his grade but is fair and will add points to test if he found he screwed up. He is funny, sarcastic, and incredibly intelligent. TAKE IF YOU CAN!

I have had Dr. Dahlman for less than a week and I already know that he is hands down THE BEST teacher I am probably ever going to have here at Miami. He has high standards for his students and provides all of the tools you need to fulfill them. If you read and do your work this class will open your mind to a whole new world.

Dahlman is a very helpful teacher, but particular. You MUST read! His final exam didn't even test whether we understood the material. It was just about reading and very nit picky! I did all the readings and took notes and still did horrible. I recommend going to his office hours regularly.

Dr. Dahlman is a great teacher. He is pretty easy when it comes to exams and if you pay attention in class and cram before for the exam you'll be fine. The map quizzes and little short reading quizzes are easy points. Very interesting. TAKE HIM

Dahlman was one of the best teachers I've ever had at Miami. He is sarcastically funny, very entertaining, understanding of the students and their needs, explains things perfectly, puts alot of effort into making the class feel smaller and more personal, he learned most people's names even if they didn't speak up alot. HE ROCKS MY SOCKS!

dahlman is amazing -- by far my favorite professor at miami thus far (great guy & grades fairly). i was really nervous about taking this class, but i loved it and highly recommend it. it was by no means easy, but if you go to class, take good notes, and study hard, you'll be fine. an "a" is definitely attainable if you put in the effort.

I wish I could be as cool as Dahlman. Best professor I've ever had at Miami. Didn't really know much about the subject before taking his class and I learned alot. Do have to come to class for notes and tests somewhat difficult but the class was great. Hes really funny and makes 2 hours go by like they are nothing.

THE MOST AMAZING PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD!! was worried about the class at first, but i totally loved his class after the 1st week...very fair, helpful...his lectures are interesting..and he's witty..i would take any class that's he's teaching..highly recommended to anyone who wants to take geo class..dahlman's amazing!
