I had Dr. Brucher for 101 when I signed up really late and he was the only option. I was worried that was a bad sign. I could not have been more mistaken. I shudder at the amount of time he spends going over ENG 101 essays. Truly cares about his students and wants everybody to succeed. Could not recommend higher.

Professor Brucher is great! Hilarious, kind, and he genuinely cares about his students. Will do anything to help you out. He was really into the subject (Retribution in Modern Drama) and I was blown away by how much he knew about the topic. If this class is offered again (this was the first time it was taught) it is well worth your time.

Professor Brucher is awesome. He genuinely loves the material and it shows so much through his lectures. He makes it fun, and he is hilarious. He also puts a lot of effort into commenting on your work and it can be really helpful. If you have to take Shakespeare, do it with him. Or anything else he teaches!

This was his first time teaching the course in about ten years. It was a little frazzled at the time, however it was always clear exactly what Dr. B wanted for the next class and what his expectations were. He was very nice and super helpful. I honestly wouldn't bother buying the textbook even though he says it's essential. Loved him!

Fair teacher. You can miss up to 3 classes without it negatively affecting your grade. You barely need to read the books because he goes so in-depth during class discussions of them. You will write multiple drafts (cater to what he wants! He will tell you what paper to write.) I am an education major and loved how he taught English.

Definitely knows his stuff. Resident Shakespearean and dramatist. Hint- in papers, he likes to see a focus on the language of the text.

This guy knows his stuff and teaches the material in a lively and hilarious way that keeps you interested. My only complaint is that sometimes he's very vague about guidelines for assignments, but is often looking for very specific analysis. Be sure you're on the same page about what he's asking for before starting an assignment.

Like his class a lot. Wasn't afraid to call you out about the reading, but wasn't a jerk about it, either. Showed lots of movies, sometimes had people act out parts. Interesting class, dry sense of humor, very funny.

I thought he was great! Granted, he took some getting used to at first. But once I was used to his teaching style, I had a blast. And while he did go off on tangents quite frequently, they were always really interesting, so I didn't mind. I'd really recommend taking this class with him. He was so helpful and I learned a lot.

This guy I really liked. He really pushed to get people thinking for themselves, and was really funny at the same time. He always had something interesting to say. It was a hell of a lot more interesting than some of the reading material, that's for sure. I definitely recommend him for this course. He definitely knows what he's talking about.
