I loved Mr. Ridgway! He was a great teacher in class and then we had to go on-line very quickly due to COVID. He did his very best to post lectures that were very helpful and followed the textbook. He was available by email pretty much any time, I was worried about going online as it isn't my preferred way of learning but he made it easier!

I am taking this professor right now and personally, hes a very nice guy. His math skills are good for him but not to teach. He gets confussed by his own work or get answers wrong, although he fixes them fast. His syllabus says that two absences and you are out but he doesnt seem to be that strict. Poor lectures, long and hard tests, study guides

Ridgeway let's you do tests in a group. So if you find a halfway decent smart person in this class, you should never have to take math again at grossmont. Really easy, and only has 5 test.

I'm currently taking his class right now. So far its not bad, especially for someone who hasn't been in school for a few years. For attendance, he passes around a sign in sheet. He does have a tendency to stand in front of the board while he teaches, right in front of the problem he's explaining. On the tests, he does give half credit back though

Really great professor. Really chill guy. Gives practice tests and the tests are easy id you do the homework. Great class. Would defiantly take him again.

Don't believe what people say, I'm taking his class and it's soo easy, gives lots of time for home work and is lenient with turning in late labs, the practice test matches the actual test completely. Does homework off both myMathlab and out of the book, will take either but I haven't done any homework out of the book, so easy to just skate thru his class and just practice the practice test. Just show up and do the online homework and you'll get an A

He's a nice guy but his teaching styles are poor. I'm in math 160 (stats) and he does not explain anything clearly. All he uses is the book, which I can ready myself. & Half of the time, he doesn't even get the answer right himself. Do yourself a favor and take another professor!

Nice guy but teaches out of the book. Personally I have a hard time with this type of learning, I'm perfectly capable of reading the book on my own. Please, give some OTHER examples and don't skip so many steps. Also, his answers don't always match the answers in the book. Math has been easy for me until I took this class, very frustrating!

Terrible teacher! Gets sidetracked, runs out of time to go over things, and then leaves them as homework. When people would ask for help with certain problems, 50% of the time, he would just say 'Oh, well that probably won't be on the test'... He flat out admitted to now knowing how to do some problems.

I love this teacher. He is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He teaches the way I learn, and will stay after class to help you if neccessary. Class always got out early for me. I begged him to teach 175 this semester, but he was already teaching 178. If he has a class available take it. If you don't do you work. . . don't take math.

He is a horrible teacher. Dont take this class with him. He doesnt explain things well at all. He messes up on problems all the time and even writes test problems incorrectly. Plain and simple..He is not good at teaching math.

I went into Math 110 with an A from 103, thought I was doing good, I left 110 with a D!! Ridgway does not explain the lesson, just goes straight to homework problems and chooses whatever one he wants, his tests are handwritten and a mess, the class ended with about 7 people left cause everyone was failing. Very unorganized, horrible!

Best math teacher ever.very organized, goes over hmwk for about 30min then goes over new chapters, then your free to leave. always got out early. he always stayed after class if u had q's. gives pre-tests so you no what 2 expect on the real test. no extra credit but grades on a curve and u get 2 use 1 page of notes 4 the tests. wish i had him again

I really like how mr.r taught.he explains everything very thorough. He answers every question no matter how many times you ask.he teaches on a good pace and stays organized and on schedule.however,he doesnt give any extra credit. he stays after class if anyone needs help even if your the only one.his tests are simple if you study and pay attention!
