He's a really cool person, but if you walk in his class never having taken Calculus before you're probably going to struggle. He teaches weekend classes and he doesn't have office hours at OCC so you need to understand during class. His teaching style is different from all other Calc profs and the tutoring center cannot teach you his way. Good luck

One of the hardest classes I've ever taken. He teaches in a very different way, which I could not follow most of the time. But he would take his time to explain something if you don't understand the material.

He's a solid teacher but definitely not for everyone; class is about 1/3s actual lecture and 2/3s doing in-class work. Be sure to attend class and study outside of it. His method of teaching is unique so you may have some trouble finding help if you need it. My biggest piece of advice is to form a study group & meet a few times before tests

He speaks in metaphors and the math notes are messy and extremely unclear. There are no examples in his class, he expects the class to work together to figure out how to do what he should be teaching you. 4 exams no extra credit. Hes part time too so no extra help & has created his own version of calculus so the success center cant help you.

I dont recommend taking him if you are not good at graphing or at trig. It is very confusing to understand at first, so look at the book!! After a while you might get used to him. The exams are easy if you know what you are doing, very difficult if you dont try to do your own studying outside of class. Not much homework.

Prof. Ziemer is one of the best professors I had. His teaching is practical. You will earn understanding of what matters most. He teaches function mapping and encourages everyone to pay attention on how variable changes going through the function... to me this was fundamental step to understand and gain confidence in solving calc problems.

Best professor ever. His method of teaching is so much better than most of the calc teachers on campus. It might be a little tricky at first but after awhile you will see how well his method of teaching really is. He is super smart, kind and down to earth. Make sure to go to every class scheduled. miss one day, you will not understand anyt

There will be 3 exams and one final, and homework is up to him but each of them worths 20% . Not an easy A but I am so glad that I took his classes. attendance is not mandatory but try your best to be there because just come late for 10 mins and you will not understand anything. I wish he taught Cal 2 because after him I couldn't find anyone else.

I used to be the worst human being when talking about Math but I followed him since Math 170 and things got much better. I wish he taught Cal 2 but nope. Try your best to remember how to solve things he gave you in class and homework and do it exactly the way he teaches you and you wil pass.

Dr. Z is the smartest math teacher I've ever had. Never took calc before so this was a big hurdle for me. Z is sometimes too smart for his own good and goes a bit fast at times. On the upside he is always glad to help and his tests are very easy compared to his difficult in-class work. Very rewarding class but you *MUST* put in the effort.

After I've taken Andrew for 185. I realized how good is William. Andrew taught me all kind of garbage. William teaches you the fundamental and he is so good at it. If you are major in any physics or science field, plz take him, you won't regret. If you are Econ or bio student then take Andrew, as his lecture is useless as garbage.

Super easy class. I literally got 100% on every exam. In order to do well you need to understand the first few classes. If you memorize his little rules you'll see everything is based on those fundamentals and it will be a breeze. I thought he was full of it at first but his teaching style really lets you grasp concepts better for future classes.

The best Professor I've met in OCC! If he teaches Cal2 I'll definitely take him! He does't have much homework and we have classwork every week. There is only several questions in exams and homework. Highly recommend!

His class throws primary education's math style out the window. He goes to class with no agenda (only functions), as admitted. Classes mainly consist of lecture, and an in-class application. Choose smart people to sit around; most people can't get the in-class work done alone. He's very well versed in math, shame that things clicked too late for me
