She is passionate about what she teachers, but gets off track often. The 3 hour class could have easily been taught in 1 hour. Two exams, a midterm and final, both 100 questions. Exams were okay if you studied, but you definitely need to work for a good grade. Also four modules throughout semester which were tedious but helped your overall grade.

10 homework assignments throughout the semester, you get to choose which 5 you'd like to do. No exams- just two 6 page papers. Takes attendance in class but she is hilarious and class is really interesting. Absolutely recommend to anyone looking to take any of her classes, she is amazing.

As a person, Anderson is pretty feisty but funny and relatively nice. Definately need her textbook. No exams, only two large papers and a bunch of little writing assignments. A pretty harsh grader but if you try, you shouldnt have a problem. Keep up with the work and write well, and an A isnt out of reach. The lectures are interesting and long.

She's really nice as a person but just OK as an online professor. Her powerpoints are messy and you should expect to teach yourself.

If you're looking for a class to take over winter this is it! She is very passionate about her job and will respond back quickly if you have a question. The assignments are not too bad if you manage your time right. Her final consisted mostly of questions that were seen previously throughout the course. If you make an effort in you will be rewarded

Love her as a person, not so much as a professor. The trip to the NCC Courthouse was really cool, and she's definitely knowledgable about what she teaches. Definitely very into her research, which is admirable. Hard to criticize her teaching because she is such a nice person, but her class is hard.

Not a bad course, but not an easy A. Going to class will help you a lot, as the class notes are an outline of the required readings. 4 blogs, 3 required, the other is extra credit. She makes class interesting, and she is relatively funny, so class doesn't suck. Recommend if you want a very doable good grade.

Love her as a teacher and as a person. I'm not a soc/crju major and hate reading, but she kept my interest despite being a 3 hour class. Do the readings and you get a good grade. Exams are basic questions out of the book. Who wouldn't enjoy talking about sex, drugs, and other things not normally discussed in a classroom environment?

if you are looking for an easy class to fill a requirement definitely don't take this one. Notes come from her power points which she doesn't put online and the exams are VERY hard and very detailed. Reading the textbook is a must in order to pass .. says she doesn't go through the whole chapter so there are things on the exam solely from the book

This class is not worth taking. She gives exams that are very hard and these older post are wrong. You don't go to any court house now. I feel that this was a waste of my time.

If you want to boost your grade don't take this class. It is an easy lecture but the exam are so hard. She ask very specific question that can be two answers in the book. She is my helpful at all because she asks the TA for the exam review. I would refer someone else to teach this class. Going to lecture is useless.

I had class during her office hours and she refused to meet with me at another time. The course was interesting but it is hard to get past her personality. The rave stories get really old and she can be a bit rude at times.

Dr. Anderson is an awesome professor! Clear expectations as to course requirements. You have three blogs, two discovery learning assignments, and seven module quizzes. Five quizzes have to be done. All of the multiple choice questions can easily be answered from textbook. You can get extra credit by doing more than five. Cumulative final from text.

I took her Deviance and Drugs/Alc classes and I think she is a fantastic professor. She's very passionate about the material and has an affluent way of describing social trends. If you're a SOCI or CJ major that's actually into this stuff, definitely take her. She's often rigorous in terms of what she expects but it honestly pays off in the longrun

Took both social deviance & drugs, alcohol, crime... overall not too hard, checks attendance every day, annoying blogs due weekly, no study guide, a HUGE stickler for details regarding exam questions & paper requirements... other than that her classes were both very interesting and not too boring

LOVE Professor Anderson! Her class is sooo interesting and she really takes the enjoyment of her class into consideration. You get to visit a courthouse and a police station, and this class really opened my eyes to the criminal justice system. She is definitely a must take!!

Couldnt get into intro so I took this. Intro would be easier, but this class isnt awful. Shes passionate about what she teaches, and knows her stuff. The final is a large percentage of your grade though, is cumulative, and she doesnt give a study guide or anything. gives extra credit and her other quizzes and writing assignments are fair.

Great teacher!! Very knowledgeable about the subject and makes a 3 hr class fly by! Readings and attendance are both mandatory. 2 exams (1 midterm and 1 final), and 4 papers. Gives 1 extra credit opportunity.

Dr. Anderson made a 75 minute class fly by. Great at relating with students and holding your attention. The assigned readings are an absolute MUST. Up to 10% of your grade available in extra credit blog entries. Exams had very detailed questions. However, I did the readings/attended the lectures and only read through my notes once and got a solid A

She was a really good teacher who knew a lot about what she was teaching and loved it. I say attendence mandatory because every class you talked about something you could really get into. LOVED the class + plan on taking her other course. She does speak personally, but more so for examples than in terms of a huge ego.
