Comment:
I took this class online where Sue collaborated with another professor to "teach" the course. Overall had low engagement with the students. Based on the footers for all the assignment pages, they have not been updated in many months. Googling the exact wording of test questions shows they are using the tests provided by the text book with no change

Comment:
She overemphasizes HTML by using it to do weekly journal. If you make an HTML mistake in the first week's journal and don't know how to fix it then it will carry on every week, penalizing you. She doesn't seem to know that this is a general IT class, not a web-development class! Her online materials are confusing, outdated & contradicting.

Comment:
Beware of this teacher! Her directions on assignments are extremely confusing, more of like a 6th grade level. When I have emailed her with simple to understand questions, she would get easily confused and send responses that were not related to my question. Personally, I don't think she should be teaching at college level. Beware!

Just finished this class and found it very worthwhile. Instructions were clear and both instructors were very responsive. Take this class if you want to learn about IT. If you are just looking for an easy grade, dont take it.

Overall, very unaccessible and unhelpful. Her instructions are confusing and unorganized, she posts dead links, and doesn't respond to questions. Very simple assignments turned into huge problems. By the end of the term, I was posting incomplete projects, because the grade wasn't worth the frustration level.

Her links are horribly outdated on her online class. She doesn't follow her own standards when linking to material. Horrible organization on her part for not fixing broken links or reviewing the things she was linking to. Do not take this class online with her.

Overall this online class was good. The only issue was with the Access Database assignment, which was vague and with errors. I have a hard time believing the materials have been copy-written since 2009 and nobody has corrected the misleading errors?

Do not take this class online. Maybe it would have been different in a classroom setting. It seemed everyone was in a panic the whole time. At first i felt like I would be ok but after spending almost 24 hours trying to make a web site, get to a discussion and take the test, my ship sank The directions seemed to be the most dufficult.

Extremely organized. Her grader, Taylor, is a bit harsh..has somewhat of a God complex, though. Sue is knowledgeable and helpful. The material is a bit difficult when taken online, but a great value overall.

Syllabus and assignments are straight to the point. Fun extra credit assignments. Feedback provided in a very timely manner. Actively engages in online discussions as well, I don't know how others think she never responds. I enjoy this class

This was my 2nd class w/ Ms. Norris; enjoyed this class as much as the last. Mandatory postings on discussion groups is odd. Some people contribute facts, some opinion. Feedback on assignments was timely & thorough. Online classes are harder I think, but if you can learn by reading & are self-disciplined enough to keep the schedule, you'll be OK.

I'm currently taking this class with Sue and really I don't see things getting any better. She's unavailable with emails (maybe checks them 3 times a week) She isn't helpful at all. Just refers you back to the online text. The material is poorly organized and extremely vague. I'm taking 4 classes this summer. Avoid this class with Sue if you can.

HOW does she get good ratings? Content is ancient, and assignments are missing required information! She takes forever to respond to emails, barely logs on to read posts, and when you ask for help, only copies text verbatim and isn't willing to talk on the phone. There is NO curve for a grade. If you have any options, don't take this course from her

Online class. The syllabus was clear and easy to follow. The instructors were available and helpful. Content was basic, but lengthy - there was lots of reading. Assignments had very little, if anything, to do with reading and quizzes.

Monitored discussion groups & email closely to answer questions & quick to give help when needed. I appreciated the checklist of items I'd done correctly on homework with a small note of encouragement for positive reinforcement. A lot of reading is required. Keep a calendar so you remember when things are due. My 1st online course, good experience!

Online web class. Some of the course materials could benefit from editing and updating, but unlike some others, I feel that they lay a good foundation for more learning. The class structure is clear and the grading is fair and evenhanded. Ms. Norris is responsive to email, often available online, and posts regularly on the discussion board.

This was a really aweful class. The information was unclear, the instructions for assignments were overly complicated and missing important information. I asked for help from two programming friends and showed them the assignment. They both said that she was teaching incorrect methods and was expecting knowledge that isn't covered in the book.

Starts her CIS 121 class right where her CIS 120 class left off, hope you didn't have another professor. 1st half of the term was database related, 2nd half is misc subjects, but as others have pointed out, the materials used are dated. Does have an odd fetish for making students learn HTML coding by hand (HTML hw each week, both cis120 and 121).

Comment:
Sue Norris is way behind the times. Her material is generally 7-10 years old, which, in the field of computers, is ancient. I'm pretty sure I'm less capable after taking her class. Recommended only for those who are still learning Windows 98. I'm serious--this class is junk, which is probably an indication of all her others.
