Best advice I can give you is to not take this class. He gives you a bunch of prerecorded youtube videos from more than 5 years ago to watch and his tests are worded very confusingly. You barely have anytime to take tests, 52 questions and 50 mins, and he expects that to be enough. Essay questions are also confusing. So do whats best and dont take

Most of the positive reviews on this page are written by the professor, so don't believe them. He is more concerned with his reputation rather than actually helping his students. Your canvas grade isn't your actual grade, since he calculates your grade in his own way. Study hard for exams and you'll get at least a B, but don't rely on him for help.

His essay questions are so ambiguous, the same happens with the exam. I don't know why his wording is that bad and confusing. He won't give useful feedback and usually is not accessible or open to dialogue about the possible answers given. If you have the chance to take this class with another professor, do so.

This class was good. Easy A if you pass the 4 exams. If you study you will be fine. The labs are easy. The only issue with this class is the lectures are online and he doesnt do any of it in class. He expects you to read it on your own. I didnt read 1 lecture. I just focused on his sample test questions he pulls questions straight from there.

I didn't like science classes, but he made science fun and understanding. he really motivates you to do better. He tells you exactly what will be on the quizzes and exams, so all you have to do is study and the there's 2 lab practicals, but they're doable. A tip I'll give is that find people the 1st day of class to make a study group.

He said in the end of the semester that he was gonna have a heart to heart conversation and ask us if we found a way to study, just cause he said he was there to help us but proceeds to screw us with constant presentations and slides that didn't help on the test.

Professor is nice and caring. The class is very challenging but I dedicated a lot of my time studying for this class. The exams are literally from his PP and he has lectures online, can't fail lecture exams unless you don't study. There's a google photo album with all the lab stuff labeled ask around or MESA STUDENTS. If u want an A study for it!!!

Amir Assadi-Rad is a very inspirational professor. He motivates student to be academically successful and as a person. His class is a little challenging but its doable you really need to manage your time and study for his class. Theres 5 exams and 2 Lab practicals. He gives study guides for all. Just make sure you study and you will be good.

Honestly, Prof. Amir is super chill he literally gives full points for just trying on discussions and mini-essays. 10 graded discussions and 10 mini-essays and 4 extra credit each 10p I don't know how people still failed I googled everything. His research paper is graded super strictly but explains everything in his syllabus. Always look n modules.

He gave me a zero on my research paper because he didnt clarify how it should be turned it. I emailed him the day the paper was due and he answered me two weeks later to say, youre correct in assuming that youll be getting a zero. Other than that, the test questions and assignments come straight from the textbook and are all easy to get an A.

Had him for human sexuality, graded unfairly, there was multiple times where I had to highlight parts of my work because he said it wasnt included, tried to give me a D on a paper, then I pointed out I had answered all the question correctly and changed my grade. Unsure if he actually reads the work, also doesnt know much about the topic himself

The hardest class i have ever taken. Quizzes every single lab period. Too much information expected to know. Keeps talking about how its the same in medical school when he hasn't even gone to medical school. Literally tell tell us that we are dumb. He has no mercy. Lecture and lab exams on the SAME day every 2 weeks. He doesn't have a heart.

I found Professor Amirs book very helpful because it tells you everything you need to know about getting into medical school. It also talks about study habits and be more successful. The name of the book is Medical School: The Nuts and Bolts of Getting In. School, and it has a fair price. You can purchase it in the book store or amazon.

Dr. Amir gave so many good life lessons that has truly changed my life. He also gave us tremendous ways to study smart and not hard, which helped me get an A in the class. Where do I begin?!? Professor Amir cares about his students, and I was scared to take Biology because I never took a STEM class, but he made the class really easy to handle over the summer in the course of six weeks. I definitely recommend him to everyone. Don't miss a great opportunity with one of the best teachers EVER!

Dr. Amir Assadi-Rad was hands down one of the best teachers I have had in my life. He is very caring and gives you life lessons, I am so glad I took his class. Never hesitate to ask questions because he is more than happy to answer them. He has a passion for Biology and he passes that passion to his students. I will definitely take him again.

he is pretty clear in the directions he gives all you need to do is take the time to study for a couple of hours on the powerpoints study sheets and slides and go to after class hours. also check out coursehero's Watertheworld67 for help in this class

Had to retake this class. Its really not that hard need to know the PowerPoints and a list of questions called questions at the beginning. Easy B on test and quizzes. Lab practicals are really hard, 50 questions and really impact ur grade. But he will go over every slide and model with u. Just remember to take PICS and RECORD STUFF.
