Took may term with him online. I would not suggest. While he is fairly prompt with responding to emails, he's are not entirely helpful. I thought it was a difficult class for a 100 level. Super short but super boring lectures, can barely understand him. DO THE READING. Won't pass daily discussion, quizzes, or weekly test without it.

CMJ 314 was a informative class taken with Paul. He was very passionate about the subject of International Media, and he really knew his stuff. Attendance was key, though participation was not required. His tests were fairly long but I was always prepared for them. We even got to meet international students to discuss their media systems.

Paul was a good instructor for CMJ 211. He sometimes was unclear about a few things, but overall I learned a lot from him which is hard to say about many faculty members. He always gave good feedback but was slow at grading. He was a very, very nice guy and was always willing to help. His dry humor is the best. A very interesting man.

Literally the worst professor I've ever had in my entire life. He cancelled 2 of the 3 exams, made the homework not count towards our grade and basically gave up on the class in general. He is not helpful when he grades your papers and gives absolutly no feed back.. WORST TEACHER

The professor is really really nice, he makes a lot of jokes and is easy to talk to. I hate going to class, his lectures are super boring, and he often gets off track. The only way to know what he is talking about is to read the text books. He goes off track a lot and mumbles when he speaks, he is a nice guy, but the most boring class I have taken.

Grosswiler's a cool guy, and he definitely has experience, but his classes aren't all that great. You learn more from reading the textbook than from going to his lectures. In CMJ 314, at least, her just gives you crosswords to fill out -- and you can just Google the answers, and then he just reads the answers in class. It's not that great.

Great professor and a great individual! Yes, some people might have an issue with the independence that he gives to his student, but this is a great way to encourage creativity, and critical thinking! If you are looking for one of those unique professors that are out of the ordinary, and make classes special take Paul!

Paul Grosswiler is a very good person, he is reliable, nice, and helpful, however as a professor, he is kind of boring. He reformatted this class so it was easier for the students. He really cares what the students think/feel about the class. I would recommend him and this class... it was easy, but also very informative.

Yes, he is different from others, but you need to have guts to be different and he challenges his students to look outside the boundaries put by the society as well. That's why he wants to see who will have guts to burn US flag in public. The goal in this is to show the true limits of so called "freedom of speech" and acts, that's all. He is the be

This class was the most boring class ever. His lectures were right out of the book, and all he did was read off of his power point presentation the whole time. He's a nice guy, though, and will help people out. His tests were formatted in a great way that allowed you to choose what sections you wanted to answer. Not bad if you don't mind boredom.

Poor Grosswiler, he seemed to try so hard, but things just never worked out for him. he's a very kind and compassionate teacher. lectures were boring, but the content was good, if you like HISTORY. he's a good professor, who is oddly misunderstood. give grosswiler a chance!

Prof Grosswiler is a great professor. He gives students options, and always makes his grading work in the student's favor. He is extremely nice and willing to help. Lectures are incredibly boring, but I learned a lot from the class. Do your work and pay attention, that's all.

He is very quiet. An expert on the Dao De Jing...but that's about it. He has a Journalism background and loves to take notes! As far as an honor's professor, I would definatly take him over Killinger anytime. He can be funny, and makes the class very open. Just talk alot, you'll do well.

I took Mass Com history with Grosswiler. This professor is very flexible and kind. A lot of students seemed to find him very weird, but enjoyed his teaching style. Used boring power points, but his side comments made this class worthwhile. One creative project, journals on chapters, and 3 tests that are very flexible in how you take them.

I didn't really like his class at all. He was way to liberal. I wouldn't really care if he was liberal, except for the fact that he had to shove it in your face every 5 minutes. couldn't keep his opinions to himself and just teach. I learned very little from him.
