Hes such a great professor, but you HAVE to pay attention in class. The tests are all written and essays He makes things very enjoyable and easy to understand. Hes also very passionate about his classes and makes it better for the students. I also really enjoy the labs, but he really makes you work for your grade.

Professor Speer is a great person and does care about what he teaches. The only problems are that he will not give a study guide for the exams and what he 'reviews' with us, a good percentage will not show up on the exam. He will tell you that he goes off his presentations but they are all pictures so be ready to listen.

He treats Envi 110 like a 300 level science class even though it's an intro class. Each exam is a 50 question scantron and he gives no indication of what will be on it, as he says that in higher classes you won't have a study guide, so I'm not giving one either. His powerpoints are all pictures, so if you aren't an auditory learner, don't take it.

We had to read a lot more than I had expected, that being said the reading was usually pretty interesting as long as you're interested in the course. Dr. Speer is super cool and friendly. As long as you try, you'll pass.

Dr. Speer is an amazing professor! He actually wants you to learn and will answer any questions you have. If you dont show up to lecture or make an effort then you wont pass the tests. There is one group project thats easy. Overall great course and professor and look forward to taking him again!

Dr. Speer is a great professor,he cares about you passing his class and giving you so many resources in order to succeed. For the posts you read that say he is difficult and the test are hard, they most likely were too lazy to read the text, use the recorded lectures, and did not attend SI sessions. He shows you that you won't get a handout in life

He is passionate if nothing else, but the group projects are pretty annoying. There is a survey you have to go out and administer then run stats for or against a self generated hypothesis. There is also a music video you have to put together involving an environmental issue. The tests are pretty hard. Everyday lectures.

He is good professor but test is kinda difficult and he doesn't give us any study guide. if you read a book and understand, you might be okay for test. If you dont like group project, then don't take this class.

This guy helped me out as an advanced grad student who needed several courses for credentialing. He worked hard to make sure I had online access to all class lectures, and was prompt in sending me exams. The exams were difficult with many diagrams and drawings to do, but well worth the effort. He is a great guy and think he goes out of his way.

Dr. Speer rocks. Have taken many classes with him and he really cares about his students and wants them to do well. Although his test are hard they dont seem to take over your grade average. other things are more important than the test to him.

This class is worthless. You learn nothing from him. His tests are extremely hard and nothing comes from the power point slides. I recommend no one take this class with this professor. It's a waste of time and money and you will learn nothing.

Extremely easy professor. Teaches right off of power point slides. Material is sort of boring to me so I pretty much sat there as he talked but just doing that was enough to let me skate by with a "B" Then again I had a similar earth science class in high school so a lot of it was review.
