Comment:
He's knowledgeable and communicates ideas well but I still found this class very frustrating. Up to 5 hours of reading was assigned for a 50 min class. 2-3 page papers are due weekly and are pass/fail. You could write the most in depth paper the man's ever seen and he would fail you for that week if one of your references wasn't in correct format.

Tests were very difficult, 4-5 essays on involved topics in a 50 minute period. Often teaches from an economic point of view, often came across as biased. Class was interesting and worth attending, but I thought it was very difficult for a 100 level course, and I am an EES major!

POOR CLASS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL MAJOR, BUT ACCEPTABLE IF IT IS JUST FOR A SCIENCE REQUIREMENT. HE HAS LITTLE FIELD EXPERIENCE. UNDERSTANDS THEORY WELL, FROM AN ECONOMIC POINT OF VIEW. NOT A TEACHER YOU WOULD LEARN MUCH FROM. 4 YEAR ENVIRONMENTAL MAJOR STUDENT'S ASSESSMENT.

I've had mark in alot of classes. He's a good guy, goofy, wears a bow tie alot. One criticism is that he teaches stuff that I personally think is interpretive and almost abstract (the complexity of environmental issues), but he is oftentimes looking for fairly specific answers that feel limiting in your creativity (not uncommon for a science prof)

he plays favorites. i was never an A student and by far from a D. i worked hard and understood everything to my fullest. i had the same answer on my test as someone else in the class, just worded differently. i had the lower grade. when i asked it was way off logic. he exploits situations like these so he can use his use his favoritism.

I don't see where he was boring at all. He had a lot of interesting topics he went over. He's a genuinely nice person and he'll give you the help you need if you need it. It was a little tricky figuring out what he wanted at first in the reflection papers, but you'll get guidance in the right direction. Make sure to use the test study guides!

Mark Anderson is the man. his class was informative if not well attended because no one came...tests were actually legitimate because the were over the notes...just study...you'll get a good grade

This class was a snoozefest. The topics are things learned in 7th grade science classes. His grading is ridiculous for a 100 level class... graded like it was a 400 level class. I attended on a regular basis, but so not worth it.

professor anderson is really nice and i liked this class. he doesnt post his powerpoint on firstclass so you better be taking good notes. the tests were good but challenging. if you remember most of the questions on previous tests the final should be good.

Worthless class. Exams didn't test the important elements of the class and the grading was unjust.

I thought Mr. Andersons essay questions were unfair, and unjust. The way he scaled the grades was also awful because the class average could be below a 60, and if one person got a 100, then everyone suffered. I would not take this guys courses again, if i were to recieve a million dollars!

This turned out to be one of my favorite professors. He takes a bit getting used to-but once you know his style he is great. Don't get discouraged by all the negative reviews you read about him. He knows his stuff . If you do the assignments and show interest in the class (by attending and participating) you get good grades.

I'd avoid taking his class. Tests were easy. Those stupid weekly pop quizzes made it so you have to study notes from previous class before attending each class or struggle. Participation is by hitt clicker. Avoid the short hippy man.

Random quizes given weekly, not scored clearly. Participation is by poll. Boring class but he tries to joke once in a while. Exams are easy if you read the material, you don't have to really study as long as you attend class.
