I didn't think it would be fun taking 201/301 with him because of the bad ratings but he lets you be you and is very helpful when its needed. He doesn't only give "his opinion" like other ratings say. He gives you both sides and you decide. And the discussions allow for you to voice your thoughts as well and hear you whole class speak! GREAT CLASS!

Genius! I love Dr. Covaleskie. He has an extreme passion for what he's teaching and teaches us to be teachers by realizing himself that he still has room to grow as a teacher. It's very easy to have a good time in this class because he's having a great time learning right with you.

A great instructor with high expectations of his students. If you think this calss is too difficult, change your major. The education classes only get more challenging.

He doesn't seem to realize that people have other classes besides his. The workload is extremely intense, and the books are biased and present a fairytale vision of the education field. I wasn't expecting an easy class, but I also wasn't expecting to have to ignore work for my other classes just so I could write another five-page paper for him.

Too much of the class was his opinion. The books used in class were terrible. We had several readings that were never discussed/tested on. Overall, I felt it was a big waste of time. I learned nothing but his ideas.

I read all these reviews before I took his class and was excited. Huge let-down. I've never been so bored in all my life. I'm actually an inspired person... but not with him. Who the hell cares, John... REALLY?

Dr. Covaleski is very challenging and does have strong opinions. Yet, he inspires and challenges your thinking. If you can't hack it in his class you should not be a teacher!

Worst class ever. I love to write but I hate this class because we never write, all he does is talk about social security in a very boring tone of voice. STAY OUT!

You WILL learn a lot if you pay attention, but you WILL work your tail off for a good grade. He grades very harshly and is very opinionated. A very good professor and knows his stuff!

If you're looking for an easy A and an easy class to snooze through, don't take Dr. Covaleskie. If you want to be inspired and actually learn something, take this class!!! I left wanting to teach more than ever, and he challenged my way of thinking.

LOTS of work for his classes, but if you do the reading and participate, it is not impossible to get an A, but close. He is excited to teach and it shows, but be prepared for immense amounts of reading!

Has a definite political agenda and the main book reflects his viewpoint. Be very careful about presenting a conservative political point of view. Tough grader. Too many books.

I think he expects way to much work for the number of credits for the class. He does not give enough time for the papers, is unclear instructions. He has too much reading. I enjoyed reading for fun but he destroyed that because you have so much to read
