This guy is one of the best teachers at WPI. Super knowledgable and always willing to help. He's worked in the industry for 40+ years so he knows how to show how what your learning applies to the field. Super clear and always around to help. Gives a lot of work but its helpful. Definitely recommend taking every class you can with him.

If you survive the workload, Norton is the best professor you will ever have. He is excited about the subject, and explains it well. His book is fantastic. The projects, while demanding, give a fantastic idea of what real engineering work is like. Take a class with Norton before you get your ME degree...it's worth the work.

Smart, practical man. Basically, this is a class where he can sit back and critique your ideas like crazy. The feild trip was pretty cool. So much CAD work and writing, but it's such a cool class. This is class is like a spectator sport for him. He literally has 2 hours of reading and grading to do a week, if that.

Needs to stay at the 4xxx level; he was a disaster in a sophomore-level class. Very vague with the topics covered (all of which were beyond the level of the course) and assumed prior knowledge that was above and beyond the course level. Doubtlessly a good teacher, just not for sophs. Having some other reference apart from his own text would be nice

Best professor I've had at WPI. He is rather difficult and gives a lot of work, but still fair with his grading. He stimulates your interest like no other, and the book he uses (which he wrote) is the best textbook I've used. He was also a GREAT MQP advisor.

The best ME professor at WPI, bar none. He gives you a lot of work, but if you go through the sequence with him, it becomes clear why he does. ME4320 is an awesome class.
