Dr. Jain is arguably the most intelligent professor in the department. This semester he was on sabbatical, so this is for last semester. His class contains 5-7 case studies and he will pick 3 of them to be on the final exam. There are also 3 excel quizzes. Heavy group projects and goes through the excel at a very fast pace. VERY FAST.

-shows how excel is done, goes at an alarming speed -had office hours once per week, I had class during this time -powerpoints had 10 slides. Just definitions and concepts, no help with the excel (only thing youre graded on) -no book no hw Hardest class Ive ever taken. Finished with a 67% and it prevented me from graduating. Thanks Jain!

He comes off harsh at first, but he is really knowledgeable about the material. It is lot of material to cover, especially on the final. Must come to class. He answers questions, but be ready to move into hyper speed once he is done. Sometimes I got the feeling he forgot we're students and do not necessarily experts on the material. He does care.

Professor Jain is a great teacher. He goes over material really fast, but he'll answer questions if you have any, although he does make you think first before he answers them. Be prepared to spend HOURS on the group projects, but for me that helped me learn much more than just in class.

Tough class but taught by a great professor. He will challenge you but after a few years in buy-side trading I'm coming back to share that I appreciate the effort Prof Jain put into this class. I should also say that when I took this class in 2011, I was sure that he didn't like me- inhindsight, he just cared about my comprehension of the subject.

Goes through the excel in class at a ridiculous speed. Going that fast doesnt do anyone any favors because you cant keep up.

This professor is very intelligent and you will learn a lot. Attendance is mandatory and if you miss more than 3 classes he will withdraw you from the course. The homework is fairly easy if you follow the excel worksheets done in class and his tests are easy. His quizzes are hard. He goes through material quick you have to come prepared for class.

He's the only person teaching 439 at the time so you dont really have much choice. I've taken him for 351 also(because he's also the only person teaching that class). The class is passable, but good luck learning anything in class. He doesn't teach, he just talks at you and expects you to learn. If you have a specific question he dances around it.

Dr. Jain is awesome. He is one of the best finance professors I have had at Towson (coming from a finance concentration, I've pretty much had them all). He really cares about the students, as long as you show effort and put in the work. Go to class, pay attention, ask questions and go to his office hours if need be and you will be fine. Great guy.

For FIN 331 and FIN 439, Prof. Jain teaches students material that is extremely applicable to real world finance, and expects students to act like they are in the real world. It's tough at times; you really need to pay attention, but in the end, this man is absolutely brilliant and what you learn can be used on the job.

The material WILL be the end of you if you don't study, because it is NOT easy. He is an excellent teacher though, because he explains the concepts fluidly and clearly. But you better work your ass off in his class or you will fail. If you do well in his class, (A) then you have proven mastery in the subject matter. Not many people escape with As

Not the BEST professor...class has had to correct several of his own mistakes. However of all the finance professors at Towson, I would recommend him for 331. Just stay on top of ALL assignments, and make sure you understand everything... and if you don't, go to his office hours - he will help you.

Finance is a hard course, but Professor Jain knows his stuff and really takes the time to teach the problems. I enjoyed the stock market simulation. It was by far my favorite project at Towson.

This man is so rude and arrogant. He says he is always there for help and for questions, but the minute you ask him a question he fires back at you, acting like you should already know the answer. Most of these ratings are positive, but they're also years old...all I know is I wish I had someone else because I can't deal with this man's attitude!

First day of class he told us he would not curve a final grade at all, such as a 69.9 to a 70, a 79.9 to an 80, etc. Only two weeks into the course and I already don't like him.

Finance is a hard class but Dr. Jain is really helpful if you just ask. He's really nice and knows his stuff. He doesn't take attendance but you will do a lot better if you actually go to class. Two tests plus a final, online Aplia homework, and a really easy stock market project.

The material itself is very hard. Ask questions, take notes everyday, even on the stuff that doesnt seem important, his little recap's in the beginning helped me a whole lot once i wrote them word for word. Go to his office hours, do the homework BEFORE its due and bring him your questions. he's so smart and so nice and will definitely help you out

This class was a pain in the ass. Prof. Jain warns you in the very beginning about how much work you will need to do. This teacher is very knowledgeable of the material and gives good incite on real world applications. If you have trouble go to his office hours, very willing to help students. I kinda missed out on that.
