Comment:
Prof Dimitrov is a real gem. His lectures are amazing but his way of teaching is monotonous. Grading criteria is very clear for him. He emphasizes on the understanding of the topics rather memorizing stuffs. He is very passionate about what he teaches but not at all available after the classes.

Dr. Dimitrov is an excellent prof, and is very passionate and knowledgable about the course content. He's clear and concise in lectures, and he gives plenty of examples in tutorials (which are mandatory). If you enjoy big-O, Euclidean algorithm, and linear difference equations, you'll enjoy this course. Only 3 quizzes, a midterm and final.

Definitely a hidden gem of a professor. Answers questions well, very knowledgeable, but eccentric (not in a bad way) Most questions seem like puzzles and are fun to solve (think Sudoku). Course has no d2l, but not an issue. Only grades are quiz/tests, but ALL are openbook, coverage given in advance, and graded VERY fairly (part marks everywhere).

Lectures are dense, but that cause the guy knows his stuff. In a real impressive way. The Russian teaching methodology shows here; so pay attention and the math will make sense. He works through examples and topics several times, if you attend all the sessions. Honestly, go to class and you'll see a guy with deep understanding at work.

Not very approachable and doesn't know how to communicate to his students. He always uses that light pen the whole semester to write on the board which is really hard to read. He also gave me a C as my final grade. I went to his office to look at my final but he said he left it in his car because it's heavy. Came back the next day and still nothing

A good professor overall. His writing was a bit unclear and messy at times but the content was spot on. He was really passionate about the stuff he taught and was very lenient with the marking. Only problem is getting in contact with the guy. Need to talk to him after class? Good luck chasing him out the door! Finishes class early too.

I can imagine him being good if he was teaching any other course. Concise, explains concepts well & offers practical applications. However, impossible to read his writing, so get the textbook (he follows it closely anyway). Finished lectures early & told what was on quizzes & exams. IMPOSSIBLE to contact outside of class (even email!)

This course is very interesting if you like math. It focuses on how computers are able to do calculations quickly and efficiently, which dictates the use of a lot of neat tricks and clever algorithms. Vassil has a quiet enthusiasm that is infectious if you get into it. Take good notes and attend classes and you will do well.

The instructor is very well versed with the topic. He taught the topic with a lot of interest. Unlike a lot of other instructors, his answers to the questions were direct and clear. While the mathematics he teaches is very elegant, he is aware and accepting of the fact that not all solutions from students will be such. A good experience overall.

Missed the first lecture; never regretted it (c y below). 30% of the time, I barely could read or understand what he was writing even while sitting in the first front row. Though, he sure shares almost everything that's on the quizzes/tests. I recommend you take the course in the spring as it's so not worth the stress during Fall/Winter semesters.

First lecture, no one could hear what he was saying or read what he was writing. He started wearing a microphone but he was still nearly inaudible. And even when you could hear, what he said didn't make much sense. His notes are also incredibly disorganized and nearly useless. His redeeming quality is he tells us almost exactly what's on the tests.

You can tell he is smart, but he can't really teach / communicate well to pass on his knowledge. Chronically late or a no-show for class. In a 50 min class it wasn't uncommon for him to show up 20 min late and end 5 min early. Course content not reflective of course title. Good luck trying to find him outside of class.

Very brilliant man! He is, however, terrified of being in front of a large class (only 15 in ours). It is unfortunate that he was "pestered" by the prof of the other section. It absolutely ruined the semester for our section. The politics saw us having quizes that even Dimitrov didn't know were happening until the morning of!

The course title is Computer Architectures.. he goes and gives us a course on special algorithms. Very smart guy, but highly disorganized. Notes are like paper scribbles all over the place. When he uses a microphone, he talks like a KGB agent.
