Comment:
Its a class that has a mix of graduate students and undegraduates so its obviously not easy. But graduate students are not demigods so the class is still managable. He curves and basically only tests on things covered in lecture, but you must know EVERYTHING on the slides.

he is one of the best teachers I have had in my entire college career. Make sure you record the lectures so you can go over them. I liked how he referenced the slides to where they were in the book. However, the book was horrible and was all over the place. When you have questions he will always answer them through email

Hard but interesting class. Take only if you're interested in molecular biology or virology. Lots of work and huge amounts of material for exams. 2 exams, one term paper, a short presentation, and weekly papers to read and summarize for a grade. If you had him for molecular and did well you will do well in this course too.

I took this class for an extra credit to graduate, but he made it very interesting for me, and now I'm considering a career in it! While he might be hard in other classes, he seems laid back in this one. Your grade is based only on a presentation, paper& final, so do well on those assignments, go to class and participate and you're set!

His class is hard... just go to class and take notes on powerpoint slides and then go back the day before the test and read the slides with the textbook figures and just try to memorize every single slide and detail and you'll do fine. plus his moustache is uber studly!!! you might go to class just to look at it!!!

Idk wat everyone is b**chin about, prob wimpy bio majors. GO to class, write down everything he says on the slides, memorize the slides and the corresponding parts in the book by heart before exams, and you'll be good to go. Go to help sessions. Not a bad class at all

DO NOT TAKE CLASS, unless absolutely required. Worst Professor in the biology department! Test are rediculous - need to memorize every single detail (no matter how small) from the book. Very harsh with grading and giving points on the tests.

Sounds like he's an ass in other courses, but in this one he was pretty low-key. Brought food to class a lot. Grade consists of three assignments that you NEED to do well on (presentation, report, final). If you take non honors he will drop the lowest grade. Def. a good class to take and an easy B

The class is ok. Take good notes, go to class, and study the slides. If you go to him outside of class he is not helpful at all. Tried to get help from him for grad school and he basically gave me a lecture on how I won't survive. He doesn't like athletes.

The test questions are not unfair, just how he grades them...memorize EVERY LITTLE DETAIL and you might be able to manage a C. Sit in the front because he doesn't speak above a whisper during lectures.
