Extremely knowledgeable about the subject, challenges students at a college level. Lectures can be hard to follow at times. He has pop quizzes, & the tests are a mixture of written, MC, & fill in the blank. He reviews before tests. He is a bit of a tough grader, but I like how he makes you earn your grade. I found him to be very nice & approachable

He's an EXTREMELY tough grader & goes on rants in lecture, yet tests on things that he never mentioned but were referenced in the textbook. The class averages were always F's & D's. He doesn't like confrontation, so don't bother talking to him during office hours or after class, because he gets VERY angry & rude about it. Seems nice at first though

He doesn't give traditional lectures which makes it hard to take notes, and test review sessions can be difficult to follow. He can be rude at times, and puts all the blame on the students. He does return work and tests quickly which is good. Overall I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT TAKING HIM.

Prof. Moe has detailed lectures, you MUST pay attention in class. We had a graded quiz on the first day and a quiz almost every class after that. Do not skip class! Take good notes! He is great with returning assignments. Midterm was difficult; Final was almost the same test; review the midterm when studying! I would recommend reading the book.

Prof. Moe is one of the toughest professors I have taken thus far. Its not that the tests or quizzes are tough but you MUST show up to class and pay very close attention to lectures because he will quiz you on something that he very quickly speaks about in class. He is a good teacher and hands back assignments the next class. Sometimes can be rude

It was a theme class,he acknowledged that, and i appreciated it! gives weekly quizzes, handed back assignments/tests faster than any professor i've ever had which helps with studying. show up, pay attention, take good notes, STUDY. you will be fine, even if you suck at science. Minimal work load, and hes nice. tries to crack jokes too lol

Probably one of the most wonderful professors I have ever met . Learned so so so so much about ecology and life in general. Would take this class, would take any class he taught, he was that wonderful. Yeah his lectures arent traditional but you still learn so much and exactly what you need to learn for him. I would recommend him!

Prof Moe is perhaps my favorite professor I've ever had. He is passionate , warm and extremely intelligent. I felt like he believed in me more than I believed in myself. He's inspirational and owe him a lot for pushing me to be more confident. Pay attention in class, read before you show up to class, participate and you'll love it and do well!

Agreed with the person below. Moe is rough. He definitely weeds out, he even announces that to those that make it far enough. Keep on top of reading (except he hates the book) and tape lectures. He changed his lecture style halfway through because of the drop rate. He loves quizzing on the little stories he tells. Stay in his eye: office hours!!

This was a pretty rough class. Moe is awesome, passionate, and challenging. That being said, however, you have to work hard. Go to office hours, it really makes a difference at the end of the quarter. Know everything. Tape his lectures. He likes to weed out at the beginning. Go to lectures and pay attention. Be prepared for quizzes. they'll count.

Dr. Moe does not give ppt lectures, or any canned letures at all. He requires you to read the textbook and provides study questions. He answers questions in class. Exams ore from the study questions. If you read the book,answer the study questions and go to class youcan gte a good grade.

Dr. Moe is perhaps one of the hardest professors on campus. He doesn't even stick with the subject and goes off on tangents. He doesn't follow school policy and does things his way. He doesn't even follow the class textbook. He is also very rude to the students and constantly degrades them. I wouldn't recommend Moe. Other professors are better.

Dr. Moe is a passionate ecologist with infinite wisdom to share with his students. His standards are high but reasonable. You are expected to put in effort in order to succeed, so the lazy need not apply. Those of us who share a love of nature with Dr. Moe have little trouble relating to him, and thus the material he is teaching.

Very similar personality to Prof. Rink who he teaches this class with though a bit more subdued. Once you get past his dead on Sylvester the Cat and realize that's his true voice his excitement over seemingly nonsensical things coupled with a very dry and scientific sense of humor causes class interest to fade. Very hard grader though tests are only sort of hard.

Dr. Moe is finally retiring. Thank GOD! If I had to listen to one more rant about Yosemite, my head was going to explode. I love National Parks, but after listening to Dr. Moe, I would be happy to never see Half Dome again! He is totally in love with nature. Yuck!

Moe is one of the best professors I've taken, he is very passionate about his courses and teaches in a style that requires you to find the answers to your questions through the text and his lectures. Most tests are based off of the study guides he provides you with, if you study the questions you will have an easier time passing the class

Very difficult - if you expect to be spoon fed. If not, easy if you pay attention. No Power Points (thank god) but classroom discussions on student questions. You MUST read the textbook. Picky, but fair grader.
