Comment:
Glomm definitely knows what he's teaching, but emphasizes the details rather than the big picture, making some concepts a little harder to understand. If you've taken micro in the past, 10/10 would recommend him for B251. Just a headups though, there are A LOT of group papers in his class that are pretty hard to get over a 7/10 on.

Comment:
Good intentions, terrible professor. The 2nd and 3rd exams are impossible to do good on no matter how much you study. The questions make no sense and are way too vague to answer. There are groups projects every week and he will only give you a 100, 70, 50, or 0. Pretty much every groups got a 70 or 50 every time with hardly any explanation.

Glomm is a great person, and it makes me sad to say he is not a good professor. This course was really confusing and I felt like the lectures were random and not very helpful. He also did not give much material to study for tests and his powerpoints were vague. I recommend that if you do anything, attend lectures, pay attention and take notes.

He is a super caring guy and definitely cares about the students. When he teaches he goes very fast and doesnt take very much time to explain the basics before the harder stuff. The quizzes are extremely hard for no reason. Group projects graded on a bad scale, nobody ever gets 100% (40,70,100 are the grading options). Only class I got a B in.

Glomm clearly likes teaching the class but I just hate economics. I only showed up for tests. Make sure to understand ANY TOPIC that is mentioned on the practice tests and you'll be fine. However, Glomm is passionate about what he teaches and wants to make sure you understand the economic issues he presents you with.

Class seems random and guidelines for assignments aren't clear. Tough grader, hard to get good grades. Contradicts himself. You can't yawn in this class.

At first glance his lectures seem random but if you take the time to think about what he's saying it provides a deeper understanding of the material. This class is not just memorization, you have to understand the material and be able to apply it. He's also always willing to go over the material and talk. He really does care about his students

He may be a tough grader, he does his best to make sure people succeed. The first exam was based on the review, and the second one wasn't. People bombed it, but he gave everyone a chance to come to his review session to get his answers to the question. He then gave us a retake of the exact same test. He also gave a huge curve on the final grade.

I didn't exactly learn something in this class. The exam 1 was easy. Exam 2 was much harder and covered the guest lecture so make sure attend every guest lecture. No ppt, no sample exam except exam1. Not an easy class. I'll not recommend this class if you want to learn something.

Out of my 3 years here he was the worst teacher I have ever had. His lectures aren't that relevant, and the majority of the class is currently failing. His study guides and lectures have small relevance and most people wind up failing. If you take this class your GPA will guaranteed drop, his grading is brutal, tied with terrible teaching.

His lectures are interesting to hear, but are not relevant at all to tests usually. The day before one of only three tests, he talked to us about "how to choose a husband" instead of reviewing material. Tests have only 3 questions on it, so if you don't know it you won't pass. Got a 73% and it was the second highest grade in the class.

While his lectures can be interesting, they aren't related to the material he tests. I read the textbook and that has helped but the material on the exams is so specific that if you didn't look at the "right" content you're screwed. I would not recommend if you want a good grade. The "highest" grade on the first test was a 70%...

The dude talks for hours about nothing applicable. Does not prepare you for tests. Get ready to teach yourself. Do not take E201 from Glomm. You will not do well.

Glomm was often unprepared and brough irrelevant information to lectures. No textbook or course materials. There were two exams - each one four questions and borderline impossible - class average around 25%. Very frustrated with him, gave 80% of class B-grade. Only B I received as an econ major.

Went to every single class. Class is based on 3 exams (20%/each) and a final (40%), and my grade was alright, that is until we took his impossible final. The week before the exam he even had his TA teach the class for his first time while I professor was no where to be seen and the TA seemed extremely lost and confused. Do. Not. Take.

this professor is worthless. unclear expectations, unclear grading policies, and tests don't reflect what is covered in class. coming to class is a confusing experience more than a learning one. i have been an a and b student all my life but i failed this class. awful reflection of the econ department.

Overall, I liked this class a lot and he made it pretty interesting. His lectures are definitely engaging (which helped at 8am), and he's funny too. My only complaint is that he dwells on things and rambles a bit in his lectures. The class is tough, you just have to put it in the necessary effort, which you will be tempted to not do. 7/10

Great Professor. He's funny and gives lots of real examples and anecdotes that made the material more interesting. He is approachable and helpful in office hours. He does expect a lot from students though. Don't expect an easy A. If you want to learn economics, he is a great prof. If you don't, then you should probably avoid.

The class material is very difficult but Glomm tries to make it interesting. Very funny guy who wants his students to succeed. He only tests over things he covers in class, which is nice. The homework is very hard, though. Challenging professor, but worth it!

Tough, but fair. Made me a lot more interested in the subject. Although his textbook was difficult and unhelpful, he only tests you on what you learn in class. Exams are open-ended essay type and no calculators were allowed.
