Comment:
Professor Witt assigns 4 papers per semester, which were all graded very harshly and were the only assignments. The class average was about 50% per paper, and when we had discussions he would come off as very rude and it felt like he was just talking to hear himself talk, rather than allowing students to discuss the topic. I would not recommend.

He was an awesome professor and I learned so much from him. Every time we had class it was just a big group discussion on articles that we would read. There was barely any homework besides our readings. Make sure you check his announcements regularly because he uses that a lot. He is a fun professor and wants to relate and connect to his students

He is a good professor and really cares about the content, but he can definitely come off as rude at times. Luckily the course is very straight forward and I was rarely ever confused on what was expected.

One of the easiest classes one will take. Typically every class there is a discussion based off of one of the readings assigned. Throughout the semester there will be discussion posts, peer reviews, and a few journals based off of book questions. Besides that there will be 4 writing assignments. NO FINAL. Overall excellent class.

Professor Witt ,expected too much for a General Ed class in my opinion. All the four papers that he assigned felt easy to write , but he graded incredibly hard! He is huge on participation points and questions everything you say . I recommend him if you want a challenge, other wise dont take him!

Being online for this class wasn't so bad. Professor Witt is very caring and explains very thoroughly during lecture. You have 4 papers in total that build off of each other. Professor Witt also grades the papers fair, but you can't slack off on them. We also had a group project that isn't bad as long as your group pulls the weight.

The hardest grader you can get, he literally grade for every single comma, dot, grammar, ect. Even after met with him after 5 office hours and fixed everything like what he told you, you still get a C. The average grade of the whole class was a C+.

This class was tough but if you ask Jason for help & participate you'll be fine. The readings are usually easy and pretty short. Your journal entries and class discussions are based on them but sometimes you can get away with skimming it. There were about 3-4 papers, he gave a lot of time and was always available for help during office hours.

Classes felt like a waste of time but were mandatory. Nothing of value ever came from a class I attended it was all just useless discussion. All the papers could have been done without attending a single class. The professor is unlikable and comes off as narcissistic.

Although Witt is a pretty good guy, he treats the class way too harsh for a GE class. He is very harsh on attendance and expects you to show up, only to barely give a lecture. He would often times just let the class loose and do a reading, or hold discussions. On top of this, he grades very hard, and expects a lot from you. Would just avoid.

Professor Witt is really nice and honestly pretty funny. The class is easy but he is a very tough grader. I expected an A in his class but ended up with a B. The readings are not hard and they are on interesting topics but you should be prepared before class. That way you can engage during the class discussion since you get graded for it.

Very old school, titanium was useless in this course. Hardly posted anything there. You will never know you grade until it is finalized and posted. He favored students who participated, cursed frequently, and was a harsh grader. DO NOT take him for any English class and avoid him, just like the other review say.

Class is pretty straight forward. 6-7 reflective journal entries, 6-7 homework assignments and 4 papers. You pick a research topic and build it up with each paper until the final one which is 15 pages. His name is pretty accurate. He can be a witty and sarcastic guy, but it's all in good fun. Very approachable and gives good feedback on papers.

Expects way too much for ge class. He assigned us the wrong writing project + never mentioned that he made that mistake. Attendance and participation matters for points. Essay comments, activities, and discussion avoided the main points on what to write about for the papers. Waste of financial aid on this class and was very stressful. No +/- grades

He never posted the grades on titanium, and it showed up on the audit. Because of this you'll never know how you did in class participation, on your journals, or last couple of essays. Very infuriating since I thought I'd get an A. By the way there's no plus or minus in grades so you're screwed if you got a high percentage letter grade.

Great professor overall. He is one of the very few professors in the entire campus to take his time to memorize the entire class's names, which makes the class feel more personal. He has a great sense of humor. A total of 5 papers (3 outside class, 2 in class) and a manageable amount of reading. Class mostly insists on discussions.

I felt as if some classes were extremely pointless, but others were important to go to. Participation does matter in the class so be prepared to start talking. There was a midterm and a final, which were both in-class essays. Three papers throughout the semester. Professor Witt was knowledgeable and was respectful towards everyone's opinions.

Witt's straight-forward with what he wants. Class time is used to discuss what you read the night before and in the end you write essays based on the reading. GO TO OFFICE HOURS. He is very helpful and provides clearcut help. Class's full of dumb kids who don't read his ratings to avoid his class so don't expect good classmates to help you out.

I think there were about 5 papers in total, ranging from 3-5 pages all the way up to 15-17 pages all building off of one topic you choose in the beginning of the semester. Read two books on top of all the essays. takes FOREVER to reply to emails. Final was unexpected/not discussed. Makes you do group work (power point presentation for each book)
