Comment:
Profe Marrero has us watch movies and analyze the directors reason for using certain camera angles and have us think outside the box. Movies have sensitive matter. Must do your assignments and put thought into your work. I enjoyed this class that opened doors to a new world of movies. Very caring, feedback, and communication is great!

She's great, just make sure to do the online readings with the assignments. She's flexible to a degree so don't try to get away with too many things. Overall, she's really funny and being in her class feels fun while you teach. Heavy on grammar and always incorporates theater in the course.

Professora Marrero was excellent! I learned a good deal about Hispanic literature. There are many chances to offer your own opinions about things in the short stories, or you can use her analysis. She also touched on grammar and other concepts that will help me in other Spanish classes.

Nothing positive to say. Assignments are unclear, not enough time to take exams, syllabus grading rubric incorrect, and calls out exam grades from highest to lowest in class. Not professional. Seems too focused on treating the class like children instead of adults. No encouragement from her either, unless you are making an A.

She makes the class fun and is helpful (esp for non-native speakers) Make sure you pay attention during class so that you can fill out the Hojas which are super helpful for taking the test. There's a lot of writing on the tests, considering the amount of time given, so know the material well beforehand so you don't run out of time!

Dr. Marrero knows a lot about a lot. Her classes are not that difficult if one listens and studies. The best part is that I actually enjoyed going to her class and looked forward to her lectures. If you dont know much about Lit you will learn a lot. She teaches technical things as well as difficult abstract concepts. I wish I could take her again.

i dropped her class. she tries to belittle students. she should take a course on how to be a respectful teacher to ALL students! she ranted and lectured me one day saying my mind was somewhere else and that she hadn't assigned homework for extra credit. she was wrong! i took out my notes and showed her. she's wrong for that. needs memory pills.

said she's harder on grading native spanish speakers than non-native spanish speakers.i don't recall any of my english teachers in high school or college grading me easier because i wasn't native english speaker.i was expected to speak, read, and write as good english as english-speaking students.

Comment:
knowledgeable yes, arrogant no. plenty of work in college is expected, even if the professor does not collect it for a grade. She is hard because the material itself is hard and she makes you practice your Spanish, like a good Spanish professor should.
