Overall James is a great guy! He does get a few mood swings but if you get on his good side you'll be fine. You definitley have to attend class and participate. His love for drama shows!

I was terrified to go back after the first class, but what I took for anger and rudeness at first, was just passion for his class. If you are willing to work and try your best, he will put the effort back into you. Turned out to be one of the best profs I have had.

During the first week of classes, James scared the Hell out of me but I realized he seems to have OCD or something, so people coming in and out of his class made him anxious. James made the course easy and fun (drama is not my thing but it's a mandatory class for me). He's any easy marker, straight forward in instructions and always happy to help.

Very unique, awesome professor. Has a different style of teaching but very effective. Very funny, smart, and worth getting to know if you enjoy intellect and literature. Overall fair, and very witty.

I think the ratings and details below re: Phil's/Jim's teaching are in line with the truth. He clearly hasn't changed in 40+ years. :) Be there, work hard, be respectful and you'll all do fine. Yes, he can be moody, but he also wants to show the gamut of emotions required for good/great acting. Life and relationships are both light and dark. David

James is a very helpful prof if you are willing to go to class and put the effort in. DO NOT SKIP CLASS- he docks one percent each time you do! Also, take his suggestions and do exactly as he says and you should be fine. As long as you respect him, he'll respect you.

The most interesting class I've ever taken in University. Eadie has high expectations and is a traditionalist who has been teaching for over 35 years. Answer questions astutely and be respectful. He is a trained actor and teaches drama very seriously. A delightful man and class with many interesting projects. MEMORIZING MONOLOGUES IS KEY KEY KEY

He's a funny professor. Seems scary at first, but is a really nice guy. He tells you exactly what he is expecting of you and gives good feedback. Gives time in class to work on assignments. He is very fair.

Basically, my review is a jumble of the ones I saw. Eadie is usually very funny and pleasant if you're putting an effort in, but some days he can be really bipolar and treat the class like crap for something someone else did. Knows his stuff, but can be pompous and grouchy unfairly. Hard marker too, but gives great feedback/advice.

He will take strips off you which is a shock for a lot of students fresh out of high school, so you may want to put him off till second or third year. He has a lot of experience and knows exactly what he's doing, but refuses to see anyone else's perspective and will only accept his own interpretation. If you can give him that you will do great.

I don't care for the guy. My biggest beef with him, is that he seems to mark you by comparing what he wanted to see with what you did; if you didn't do exactly what he wanted and did what you liked, your mark won't be good. You HAVE to take all his suggestions, no matter how stupid and fit them in to get a good mark. He really likes funny people

He may come off as stern at first but once you get to know him he is very approachable. He is brilliant and really knows what he is talking about. If you aren't interested in drama then I really don't suggest taking his classes. He knows when you aren't in it to win it.

Awesome prof. Pushed students to do well, not an easy class but made drama so fun. Gave lots of feedback when I was unsure of my skits. As long as you attend class and participate you will do well and he will start a relationship with you. Love him!!!! Great odd sense of humour.

He does tend to get mad when he feels his students aren't committed to learning, and don't want to be there. I also disagree with the favoritism thing, and this is why: he puts as much effort into each student as they are putting into the course. Show an interest and you'll have no problem. Don't be afraid to ask questions! AND DO THE READINGS!

Horrible. He openly states that the class is for future actors/actress' and if you aspire to be something different I suggest that you drop the class before it drops your GPA. Seriously, he picks favorites and then treats everyone else like garbage. I was so excited for this class (wait listed for 2 months) and dropped it in 2 weeks.. AVOID EADIE

Had him for 247 and 149. Has much acting experience. You will struggle in his class if he thinks if (a) you're a slacker, or (b) you don't care about his class. Also very prone to mood swings. The more he likes the group of students in the class, the happier he'll generally be. And a happy Eadie is a happy drama student.
