It is fascinating not only to learn CobbDouglas production function from slicing a melon but also to apply what we learned into real-life. Beacon Simulation project is a good practice to integrate different course materials. Besides, Prof Ryan is accessible outside the class. If you are interested in Fin, Dr. Ryan is a great professor to learn fro

He really is a smart professor and wants his students to learn but when youre on the other end and dont understand something he isnt willing to help you. He is an unfair grader. He took 10 points off my exam when I had everything correct. Make sure to compare your grades to other students.

This is the best professor you have the opportunity to take at San Diego State. You will actually learn and feel comfortable applying the material anywhere. This won't be easy but he is very fair test wise/isn't looking to screw you like many others at SDSU. Show up and put in the work, you'll learn a ton and have a strong chance of a high grade.

Ryan has a great personality and extensive knowledge. However he does not know how to teach his concepts. Therefor his tests seem somewhat confusing.

Ryan is a GREAT professor, enjoyed class. Your life will be corporate finance for the semester. I put in countless hours studying for his class. Practice exams are similar to actual, switching up T/F to ensure you know the matl. Had to read, lots of hmwrk. I will say that Ryan adequately prepared me for the finance world. Good 4 Finance nerds

If you live and breath finance and are finance fanatic, then take Ryan. You'll be a slave of this class for the semester due to the amount of work. Midterm and final are ridiculously hard. He's extremely smart in finance, funny professor, and caring.

You will live corporate finance for the four months you take his class. He will make you work very hard for your grade, but you will learn a lot in this class. I was hesitant to take him knowing how tough his class would be, but I'm glad I did. Best professor I have had in college. Period.

Very difficult class but worth it! Expect to put in the most work out of all of your classes... around 8 hours a week of effort. He knows his material and is super helpful if you meet with him. Would take his class again.

Take Ryan if you're really interested in working in finance!! Hardest class ive taken but well worth the effort! You will be going to bed dreaming about finance after this class. Tests are tough and long(2tests). Homework due every few days plus many diff variations of hw. Participation matters. Grades on a weighted average for each grade category

The lectures will cover the homework problems and mostly focus on discussion of current events. Be sure to take detailed notes as most of the heavily weighted test questions are based on the discussions in class. The homework is very heavy in volume, but not difficult.

Really great teacher. Interesting lectures. Homework heavy but all done online and is not that time consuming but is assigned every week. Exams are somewhat difficult but definitely fair. If you like discussion there is plenty of that. Not a fan of econ but I really enjoyed this class.

So far this has been the hardest class I've taken at state. The final is impossible and cumulative of the whole semester. Do all of the hw, definetely show up every class and participate/do iclicker points because midterm was hard and final was torture. Great teacher but exams are really hard, not meant to finish them during the time given.

Great professor. Make no mistake though, this class is hard. Never read the textbook, just payed attention and took notes in class. Remember the key points of the articles covered in class. Notes are allowed so be sure to write down equations and the steps to solving them. Equations covered in class will likely be on the exam. Curved at the end.

Professor Ryan, He is a great professor that genuinely cares for his student. Through hard work he paves your way for success, but note you have to work for it. He prepares you for the real world as much as possible and brings to class realism. He has a good heart!

Frank is one of my favorite professors because I feel he genuinely cares about students, and gives real world and personal examples to every thing we talk about. But the class has too much content, so it's at a frantic pace with a lot of homework . As well as a big group project at the end.

Frank Ryan, you left me emotionally drained after every class. You placed a gnarly challenge in front of me and I accepted. Hardest C, (guessing) I've ever worked for and felt like a million bucks after. I got my monies worth. Everyone who has had him will never regret it. Remember, one thing at a time with his class. Best instructor in Finance.

The course is supposed to increase our capacity to make decisions in a global economy. However, it is just Econ 101 with absurd amounts of busy work homework. This class is boring and he shows a lack of understanding of economic theory. As a non-mba grad student, If this class is a reflection on the bus. prog. I will steeply lower my view of MBA's.

He's pretty funny and he makes what he's teaching relevant with several clear real life examples. Teaches it in an engaging way. He has even owned his own companies and has experience. Never really studied and got a B so if you do, then it should be an easy A. Oh, and I never bought the textbook or online practice code either so that was a factor.
