Best history prof I have ever had. If you have the opportunity to, take a class with Korneski! He knows his stuff, is a fair grader, gives great feedback, and was very accommodating with remote learning.

Course was boring. But Dr. Korneski was an amazing guy. He loves his course and knows a lot about it. He is not an overly hard grader if you put in the effort, and he is more than happy to help along the way. Plus his darker sense of humor is great.

Excellent! He is the best ever. He would do everything in the world for everyone if everyone needs help, especially people who works hard and has autism like me. Extremely and Highly Recommended! :) Like he is an great uncle to me. Way and beyond above caring and understanding the students' need. I had him for two class in the past two years.

One of my favourite history professors. I try to take any opportunity to have a class with Dr. Korneski as I enjoy his lecture style and his approach to certain topics. He is also big on critical thinking, which is important in History. He is very helpful and has contributed to the style of essays I have written over the years, also had him 1st yr.

I loved this class. Kurt was my favourite professor this past semester. He teaches the course in such a different way. He has his own opinions about history but he backs them up with tons of examples. This made me think outside of the box and I really enjoyed that. He is extremely helpful, respectful and very handsome!!!!

Dr. Korneski has a great sense of humor (though a little dark sometimes) and is very respectful towards his students. His lectures are short, clear, and interesting, and he is very knowledgeable in his field. Takes history by a different angle with the use of novels for perspective. Fantastic professor, and will definitely take again.

I misjudged Dr. Korneski. He came across as a cynical person but once I had a chance to talk to him one-on-one I realized he's not really like that at all, he just enjoys thinking critically, which is what should characterize all historians. The lectures could have been a little more focused, but the assignments were fun, as were the seminars.

Comment:
Kurt played devil's advocate in class way too much, turning the seminar into a pessimistic, confrontational downer every day, and overloaded the course with thousands of pages of reading. He marks easy, but comments on some of my papers suggested he hadn't really read them before grading. Not the worst prof, but a bit too rough and negative for me.

LOVE HIM. He is such a good prof. He is so helpful, very fair and is a fairly easy marker. He goes through his slides very fast, so you need to be fast at typing/writing. He is a bit crazy about attendance and does keep track of it daily. If you show up everyday and do the work, you will score really high in this course. AMAZING prof.

Very easy on the eyes. Decent expectations from his students, not too much, but not too little. Talk to him outside of class, he's extremely helpful and approachable. Interesting, but structured lectures, you can tell he enjoys what he does, as he's a good teacher. Take a course with him if you can.

Very good prof. Interesting to listen to and a good marker. Textbook I had was never used, don't buy unless necessary. Final exam was fair, he gave us the questions before hand.

This was the best course I have ever done and I couldn't think of anyone better to teach it. If you have an appreciation of historiography, philosophy, and the practice of history in general then you should enjoy this course. He's demanding in this course and he has every reasons to be. Work hard and think harder. A tip: talk to him. Often.

This was not the best course I've done with him - he was generally pretty off this term it seemed. That being said if you like revisionist history (and who doesn't?!) then you'll enjoy him teaching this course.

Dr. Korneski is a great guy, a great lecturer, and a great professor. I would recommend him to anyone interested in Canadian history, particularly if you have previously done some as you will benefit from him the most if you have (as he takes a completely different approach than the norm). Would highly recommend. (and he's a good looking man too!)
