As someone who was never good at math, stats was one of my favourite courses. Professor Reed explained things extremely clearly and simply. The criteria for every test/assignment was pretty explicit, so it was easy to do well if you followed the steps but also easy to lose marks if you missed things. Submitting quizzes was stressful though.

Absolutely love her lectures, for someone who hates math I understood everything in her videos. Somewhat of a tough grader but it is easy to get an A in her class.

SO GOOD if you're not good at math! She explains everything really slowly, detailed, and non-condescendingly. A real gem!

Like last year, she was amazing and still cared about her students succeeding, which is great! There were six quizzes, two lab reports, and 10 mini assignments. However, there were no exams, so that was a plus! She and her TA marked some of the mini assignments harder tho, but I still got a lot of them and did well on the other stuff! Do your best!

Liked her as a professor, not as a person. Clear in her lectures and does a good job explaining concepts, but was always rude when responding to emails if I was confused about a new concept, which made me feel stupid for not understanding it. However, she knows her sh*t and I got a surprisingly good grade even though I'm usually awful at math.

She seems kind of tough at first but honestly shes the best prof I've taken. Theres A LOT of homework, quizzes, and assignments and you always have to watch the lectures. However, she made online learning really easy and shes so good at teaching!! i used to be bad at math and I ended with an A.

I did not like her my 1st class with her, but after the 2nd I really grew to like her. Of all of my professors, she adapted to online learning the best. I felt that I was not missing out with it being online (I actually think it might have been better). She is a fair grader, and gives clear and considerate feedback. Shes not as scary as she seems!

Maureen is a great prof although it may seem from the other reviews that she doest care about her students that is not true at all. She does care and genuinely wants you to do well and gives many resources to help along the way. Weekly quizzes although annoying make sure you are caught up so come midterm time your prepared.

Professor Reed is kind, caring, yet hilarious, but if you skip class you won't pass. She really wants what is best for you. She wants you to do well in class, even if you are not a fan of math. She will help you and do several problems in classes to get the concepts in your head. She was also generous and helpful, along with her TA. This was easy.

The best professor at Ryerson! You need to put in work for the class in order to do well but she quizzes you every week on material so its hard to fall behind. Genuinely wants all students to do well and was my most accommodating professor amid the COVID pandemic (made our final optional for those who wanted to bring up their marks). THE BEST.

She can come off as pretty intense, but shes a great professor and is very fair in how she marks. The little mini assignments are freebies for marks and practice questions arent excessive to the point where your eyes get sore. Mid-term (25%), Major assignment (20%), Mini Assignments (5x1%), and she let us off easy with the final because of COVID

Just an amazing professor who cares about her students and wants them to succeed, which alleviated my anxiety towards statistics. She provided so many resources, practice questions, notes, and examples that I barely used the textbook. Quizzes and exams were fair, and she graded very generously for everything.

I love Maureen! She is an amazing statistics professor. I have never been good with numbers or math, but the way she teaches made the course content super easy to understand. She comes off as intimidating as first, but she really wants her students to succeed. Do the work, go to class, do the practice questions and you'll do good!

I had Maureen in 2nd year for PSY411, and then I genuinely got hella excited when I saw I had her again for PSY511. In stats, she explains things clearly, and always makes it distinctly clear she cares about you and your success. I'll always remember her lectures fondly, and I'm genuinely gonna miss her.

You will definitely need to try for this class, it's not an easy A but Maureen is so nice. Content was of average difficulty but her teaching style was good. Participation helps too. Personally, I didn't think the tests were hard if you studied HOWEVER other in the class often complained the tests were too difficult - I felt they were average.
