I love Musselman! He brightens my day. If I ever needed help with an assignment, he would write out the correct format and try to assist me as best as he could. I'm so sad he's retiring. Honestly, one of the nicest profs in COB. If you can get on his good side, he will hook you up. Tests are open-note so bring all you have and ORGANIZE them!

This was the worst class ever. The guy never talks, he only types on the computer. He knows his stuff but, doesnt know how to teach others. Waste of my time and money, pretty pissed

Donny's lecture approach is probably the least effective one I've encountered; even though the class consist mostly of coding on a computer, we learn how to do so passively via watching him doing it on computer or writing it on blackboard. The exams are easy to average, but the labs can give you a headache if you procrastinate. Overall a C+ teacher

I think Musselman's teaching style is quite sloppy. His approach on things aren't as effective as he thinks. If class was to be held in the computer lab where students can follow him step by step, I think I'd learn better. However, where his sloppiness falls, he makes up in leniency for exams (open notes). I would've preferred another professor tho

Shows jokes and clips at beginning of class to give YOU time to get there before he starts. Sometimes writes code on the board; sometimes actually codes. Usually lets you use notes for tests and is willing to help if you run into troub. Anyone that complains about him probably complains about everything. Very fair professor.

Overall he was a good teacher. Always willing to explain any problems I had and help me through them. While he does give examples in class you should read through your book as well. Tests are relatively easy, and he lets you use your notes and any code you have written for past assignments. The last Lab assignment was really hard though.

He does show a couple videos at the beginning of class, then he spends the rest of his time giving programming examples. You pretty much just have to learn everything by reading the book. His tests are fair but his grading is definately biased. Usually seemed like his grading was easier for cute girls... Get ready to teach yourself programming.

One of the worst professors I have ever had. He wastes your time for 10-15 min each class with stupid videos/lame jokes. Then he proceeds to bore you to tears by playing around on the computer and mumbling. I wouldn't even call this guy a teacher because he really doesn't "teach" you anything. I'm not bitter about my grade(B), this guy just blows.

Class is not too difficult. He will grade very harshly on 10 point assignments but lighter on 100 point assignments. Read the book for full understanding and find a friend who is naturally good at this kind of stuff. You can miss 4 classes without grade penalty

Class is a complete waste of time, for the first 15-20 min you just watch funny videos and for the next 10-15 min he justs writes code and puts it on blackboard. The projects are easy (except the last one) and the tests are kind of hard but they are open note. Never used VB before and ended up with an "A". Easy class, but boring at times.

He normally starts off each class with a couple video clips and/or jokes. The projects get steadily harder throughout the year but you can generally get As on them if you follow the examples on BB and have him look it over before you turn it in. (The last 2 projects are very hard though.) And yes he does take off for stupid stuff a lot.

Musselman does a very good job of teaching what may be a difficult subject. He puts code examples on teh board, and posts them online, and has you apply the concepts of those code snippets in projects throughout the year. I was able to follow the material easily and definitely recommend Musselman as I have taken other Profs who were much much worse

if you put any effort into the projects you should do well though he does occassionally take off for things he never talked about. tests aren't very difficult. weird sense of humor but not funny. extremely biased which can work for and against you.

It was very tough to convinve my roommate that I was enrolled in this class, that is because I never went. I did however do the assignments, they were pretty tough but you wont get away from that no matter what teacher, I handed them all in late and the last one I did the bare min. I got a 100 on everything. The tests are hard, study.

he is so easy...on all the assignments he gives out 100s and he is helpful if you have any problems. he is really a great guy and for the first 20 minutes he tells jokes and you watch vidoes and then he only lectures for 20 minutes so you end up getting out early....i suggest taking him

Mr. Musselman is a great teacher. He is funny, laid back, and provides good examples to relate the material to real life. Very understanding if you have problems with assignments, can come to him for anything. Great teacher, doesn't hold you the entire class. take him, its worth it

Went into this class ignorant about programming and found it easy to follow as long as I went to class and made an effort. The guy is a little quirky, but he tells jokes/shows funny videos every class period. Overall a good class.
