Comment:
Kind of rude towards students and expects you to know far too much. Has unreasonable expectations for students and how much work they can put in. In his defense, his midterm was fair and he was an easy grader. Lectures were really boring and so was the course content. Would not take again and would not recommend.

Found him pretty rude. Not really willing to accommodate students. Boring lectures, boring course content. Perhaps would be nice enough in another course. This course just sucks.

Comment:
Switches from French to English which makes things very confusing and hard to follow, gets angry when you go to the bathroom or when you need to leave class early. No comments on your tests or assignments which gives you no help in preparing for an exam!

Very unclear about what type of questions will be tested, making students unprepared for exams. Switches between english and french so much it is very confusing, too much focus on pronunciation, extremely boring.

This man is so annoying and boring, but he's a really easy marker so would recommend. Bring something to occupy yourself with during class, do the pointless assignments and you'll be fine.

So boring, but one of the easier french courses I've taken. He's an easier marker than any other french prof I've had. Stay on top of the vocab notebook, memorize your in class essay and study the active vocab and you will do just fine. The amount of work seems intimidating at first, but you realize quickly that it really isn't.

Jmac is a tough grader, but he cares a lot about his students. He gives very precise notes on every topic, and is very clear about what he wants in assignments and tests. I learned a lot from doing this course, and I would definitely take one with him again.

Would expect you to have passages memorized for the final exam. I dropped over 20 points. One of the worst profs I've ever had. Made you want to die before going to class. SO SO SO BORING.

He micromanages his course and is extremely organized. However, his course is so dry and uninspiring that classes made me cringe. He teaches in English which to me is unacceptable. His exams were tricky based on the fact that he would 'teach' a huge section of material and ask one question on it all. He basically has you self-teach via his website.

Great prof! Always has his students in mind. His wedsite was Very helpful! Unfortunaly this course was painfully boring. Though he brought other material to class to liven it up, & he gave interesting background info, it still was a very long course. Overall - I would take him again, just maybe not for a reading course

Great teacher, but a little bit strange. He always has the best of intentions, so don't be offended if you feel like he's belittling you. He only ever wants to help and his students are very important to him. Just ignore the strangeness and you'll think he's great!
