Comment:
Dr. Sears is a solid choice! Grades were based on two short papers, one long paper, and one assignment based on the textbook. All assignments had clear grading rubrics and were graded fairly. Class attendance was optional since there were not tests on the material, but it was an interesting and enjoyable class environment that encouraged discussion

Evolutionary Psych with Chris was great. His lectures were super interesting and he has a dry sense of humour about how weird humans are which I loved. His only downfall was that your entire grade was papers. 10% for 5-7 pages at 11-font FOUR TIMES was bad, a 20-25 page final was worse. I lived and died with this class.

Comment:
The lectures were always interesting informative; good lecturer and helpful notes. I did find, however, that the exams did not have clear enough instructions. There are many instances were expectations have to be intuitively determined by the student, so the ambiguous instructions were sometimes frustrating and not always conducive to success.

Very poor guidelines for the labs, but things are pretty easy once you figure out what exactly he's looking for. Good lectures and he's decent at answering questions though! I would consider taking him for a class other than advanced stats.

If you hate stats, but must take it to fulfill a requirement, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. SEARS! I was in that position, but he has changed the way I see stats. He repeats himself in various ways in order to clarify concepts, and he is very attentive when answering questions. If he comes off as "full of himself" it's because he has earned that right.

Dr. Sears explains everything with extreme clarity and marks fairly. He only deducts for major mistakes and will go over everything with you during office hours. He respects his students and is helpful and knowledgeable in several areas of Psychology. Highly recommended!

HOT and Brilliant, This is the strangest attraction that I have ever experienced, it had to be his mind. And for those who think he is too difficult I would have to agree. However, Dr. Sears is a welcome challenge. He has the ability to make stats interesting, and I never missed his cognitive psyc lectures!

He seemed fairly full of himself and made the tests much more confusing then they had to be. I scored an A in his class but avoided him the rest of my career at the U.

Hilarious and very sexy. Nerdy, but sexy. Tests were unfair, but I forgive him based on his sexiness alone.

Was friendly, easy to talk to. Class was interesting but some of the questions on the midterm were nitpicky. Recommended.

Took this course a while back and even though I got an A-, I'll never forgive him for penalizing me 14% on the midterm just for forgetting to square a single term. I argued it for 30 mins and in the end, he didn't budge but actually threatened to lower my grade on the midterm. Boo that.

This guy is pretty brutal. Does not understand the very simple concept of rounding numbers up like 99.9% of teachers do. Would never take another class with him and I definitely did not appreciate his condescending attitude and behaviour.

Although he was extremely knowledgable, I also found him to be very condescending when responding to some individual's questions. I'd probably take another of his classes though.

Even though I give him high ratings in all categories, he is still an awful prof. Although quite learned, helpful and easy marking (hey this is Psyc) I still would never take another course with him.
