Dr. Brooks is an AMAZING professor. There is so much to be learned through her. She is such an honest and genuine individual. I left that class inspired with a lot more than I came in with! Take this class. Exams are perfectly fair (easier side) and you can do excellent on the paper as well!

Carolyn is incredible. Never forces you participate in discussions (although I loved ours) and gives easy in-class extra credit. Brought in powerful guest lecturers and showed great film clips. Easy midterm, short paper, and final. Gave a study guide for both exams with essay questions on it. She's phenomenal, that's all I can say.

I finally understand why everyone loves her! She made class interesting and seemed to legitimately care about her students. She does have the students give presentations in the class, but she's very understanding that not everyone is comfortable speaking in front of a group. Take her class, you won't regret it.

If you want/need to take a soc class, take something with Carolyn. She's one of the best in the department. She's very caring and legitimately wants her students to enjoy what they are learning. She's always willing to talk with students and gives great feedback!

Best professor I've ever had. Really wants you to do well and will put in the extra time and effort to help you succeed. Would recommend any class she teaches. She teaches what social control and crime is really about and doesn't sugar coat it. I think she loves learning from students as much as they love learning from her.

Best prof I have had in 4 years of university. Knows what she is talking about and makes class super interesting. Has worked in the industry and had many guest speakers throughout the term. 10/10 would recommend.

Carolyn is absolutely the best prof I have ever had in my 4 years of uni. She is extremely passionate and caring, makes school a lot easier! The course load (Soc 212) consisted of a midterm, a short paper, and the final, as well as some participation marks along the way. Overall great class!

One of the best profs I have had. Passionate about what she teaches and is respectful to students. If you put in an effort you can come out with an 80 in the class.

This class is not a tricky one. She does a great job teaching it. You can tell that she is a prof that sets you up to pass. She is super nice and accommodating. She also brings in lots of guest speakers which is a really cool way to put a face to the material that is learned. I would absolutely recommend taking this class with Dr. Brooks.

I thought her class was great! She brought in many people for presentations whom had lots of experience in the feilds that we were talking about. She is extrememly helpful and very aware of each individuals walks of life. She is non-judgemental and very generous in trying to help others out. Great class and an unbelievable teacher!
