Connie was, by far, the most energetic English prof whom I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Her classes were exciting and informative, with many personal anecdotes and insights scattered in between course material. She is passionate and caring and is always willing to take extra time to meet with and advise students. She is simply amazing!

Honestly I got the exact same grade on every paper. She told the class she had never in her entire career given out an A+ on any paper, I don't think anyone in my class even got an A-.

I found her rude to her students and I would rather do distance education rather than subject myself to another one of her classes.

She may be tough at marking but is always willing to go over your grades with you. Every class she is smiling and loves the material she is teaching. Although the subject matter is tough she tries her best to make the characters come to life.

Connie wastes class time by going on meaningless tangents, she scales everyone's grades down and marks very hard. Drop the class if you get a bad mark on the first essay because she only marks harder on the next assignment and exam.

Connie is brilliant! She may be the toughest grader in the English department, but everything she teaches becomes ingrained into your brain. Notes are everything, the finals are completely based on her lectures (make sure you attend, no matter how long and difficult it may seem). She made my English major so much more enjoyable! Thanks Connie!

Comment:
Not an effective teacher. long and boring lectures. Wasted lots of time on irrelevant content and delved into subject matter that she had no knowledge of. Is completely out of touch with modern culture, but pretends like she isn't. Marks too hard. She excessively says "Ummm" seriously, one class I kept track and i lost count after 200. Avoid!

Her feed back is a little messy and hard to read, but she is eager to go over it with you if you like. Super hard marker and goes off about random stuff in class but she makes sure you know what to do and where to get the resources for it.

The things she talks about in class don't seem important but then they showed up on the test. I thought the marks she gives on essays were accurate but the grading criteria on the midterm was unclear. You will survive without the textbook.

Do not take her course 2110 Survey of English Lit (that you need for an English Major), take it online. She scales everyones marks down. If you don't pull a good grade on the 1st essay, drop the class before the 31st of October or, take classes that will boost your GPA.

You will get an impression of a bubbly, enthusiastic prof right away from Connie. The problem is she doesn't know how to engage the class in discussion, 3 hour course with her and she will talk that entire time. If you put up a hand, she may look right at you, but you will be waiting to talk for another good 10 minutes before you can talk.

Connie is an extremely hard marker and her handwriting is impossible to read, but if you attend her office hours and ask her questions she is super helpful. Pay attention in class because what she talks about is what's on the test, making attendance mandatory unfortunately. She can be fun but also very boring at times. Participation will help.

Connie is the absolute worst prof i've had, marks students as if they are all fourth year English majors. Prior to her course I was a B student in other english courses, ended up failing hers. Avoid Connie at all costs, terrible prof!!

Connie is so excited and energetic about the subjects she teaches, which makes it way more fun to learn! She is a bit of a ruthless marker however, which is very contrary to her character. I had to struggle to keep my work up to par for her.

I took this class because I was considering being an English major and Connie made me question my decision. While she made the stories interesting, she was an extremely hard marker and didn't leave any room for improvement. Worst mark I've gotten in an English class and she wasted a lot of class time ranting.

Connie was SUPER enthusiastic and knowledgeable in her field; she always had a smile on her face. Unfortunately, she would get off topic too often and waste time with irrelevant stories or with attempts to figure out the computer. She was a difficult marker with little explanation as to her expectations. I found class very frustrating.

Comment:
First, she is super funny, charming and nice. Love her enthusiasm. Now the bad. She is a VERY hard marker, and is not super clear on what she wants from you. Her first 500 word paper is worth a whopping 20% so by the time you find out what she was looking for you're screwed. Never ends class on time either so I was always late to the one after.
