Gary is great at teaching you, I learned a TON in his class and I would be happy to take another class under him in the future, knowing it would benefit my education. However, he can be a harsh grader, giving 0s on assignments for small errors, and can also be pretty rude when asked questions. 90% of the time he was the perfect prof, and 10% a pain

The class itself was great. When Prof. Allison wasn't being passive-aggressive, I really enjoyed the material. Although the class took place online, he did not care to allow any leeway for technical difficulties in the slightest. He was a fine professor, I learned a lot from him, but his attitude and rude emails towards his students were atrocious.

He was my favorite professor I had this semester. He did a hybrid mix of synchronous and asynchronous classes. LOVED how he taught and explained things, and he really made me enjoy the topics. Only two tests and a couple of papers, and discussions every week. Not too much work and he doesn't grade hard. Just make sure you take notes!

For someone who teaches about accommodating students with disabilities, he sure hates accommodating students with disabilities. Every email was met with blunt and rude responses. No flexibility, harsh grading policies, vague instructions. I thought it was just me because of his super high rating on here, but if you feel this way, you're not alone

Nice professor who is passionate about the class. However, he is strict on formatting and deadlines, even during COVID. Lots of group projects and you have the same group all semester, so make sure you work well together. Make sure you follow rubrics closely, as you can get points off for missing silly/small things.

This class was decent. I would not take it again. At the beginning, the professor was nice and respected the students. The middle and end of the semester, he was ignorant and disrespectful. Many students would email him about issues, and he would reply with ignorant emails. Some of the grades were unfair too. I wish there was another professor!

I LOVED his class. It is clear how passionate he is about special ed and he tells his class so many stories and videos about his past experiences that really help learn the material. If you study, exams are fairly easy and papers are easy a's. Def would take another class with him.

I love Professor Allison so so dearly. I recently had him for EDUC230 and honestly it was one of my favorite classes I've ever taken. You can tell he loves what he's doing and it makes class so enjoyable for everyone there. His little warm-ups are always super fun and adorable. Highly recommend him as a professor!

Prof Allison is my fav professor I have had at UD so far. He is structured, straight to the point, and very organized. You can tell he is incredibly passionate about his job and all the work he has done in the field of special ed. His intelligence on the subject is visible through his lecture presentations. 3 papers, 3 exams

This professor made me cry. He seems nice at first but I don't get how anyone likes him. If you email him asking a simple question he will actually take the extra time out of his day to make you feel stupid rather than just answering it. DO NOT GET SICK even if it is an excused absence you will be penalized and make up exams are 40 open ended q's.

This class is pretty easy & straight forward but requires some studying. As for the professor himself, huge jerk who does not care about his students in the slightest bit which makes you wonder why he even became a professor in the first place.

I loved Allison and this class. I learned a lot of things that I actually will use in my future. He does not take attendance, but he does not post the lectures online so you basically need to go to class if you want to do well. He is very passionate about this subject and gives really good advice to help us in the future.

Dr. Allison, is funny and witty he makes a class enjoyable. Be prepared to hear terms you haven't heard of before, but DON'T be afraid to ask questions because he truly cares about all of his students and wants everyone to be excellent teachers. He is very experienced and knows what he is talking about. The two placements are easy and enjoyable.

It's a shame he was the only option for this course. Took it over winter. Definitely should have waited to take a different professor. He is the most arrogant professor I have had so far. If you love unnecessary busy work and ridiculous grading policies then you're in luck. Also, read the syllabus inside and out, DONT miss anything.

Dr. Allison is the man. I always looked forward to his lectures. The material is engaging and relevant, whether youre a special ed concentration or not. The class is easy to understand but you still have to work for the A and take good notes. I would definitely take him again. Best college class Ive taken so far!

He thinks very highly of himself. Often it is his way or the highway: I had to miss an exam for a religious holiday & he was not helpful about making it up. I was finally able to do so weeks later & I had a completely different test set-up without any warning from him. Don't buy the book. Material is interesting but I did not click with him.

Professor Allison is great. The tests aren't too difficult; however, you definitely need to go to class and get all the notes. I didn't read much of the textbook, but there are questions on the test that do reflect from the textbook. Overall, I enjoyed the course and the professor himself.

Comment:
Easy class but Allison is pretty condescending when speaking to him one on one. Thinks he is the best professor in the world. Enjoyed the material but didn't like him. Exams are easy if you come to class and write down the powerpoints. Goes over exams but doesn't really help because all exams are not cumulative. Tutoring for extra credit encouraged
