Comment:
Up to and including the midterm, the class was unbearable. Too much work, dull lecture material, not enough time on exams, etc. However, in the later parts of the course, Karim adjusted his style based on student feedback. Karim makes you work for your credit since most questions are based on designing x with y components. Don't take if you're lazy

The worst professor I have ever seen in my life. This is the first time I decides to go ahead and rate a professor but I have never regretted taken a course other than this course. He talks with a potato microphone and you need a pharmacist to explain his hand writing because it is so bad. Take my advice and never register a course with this man.

This is honestly the worst professor I ever had. He posts lots of videos for you to watch and does not work on teaching it during class time. He is very disorganized, his UR courses page is messy. Oh, you're basically studying alone as his videos are the main content of the course. Good luck on tests, they are tough and not enough time to finish

Not good prof. Just records his lectures and then during lecture time he just does "examples" that makes no sense. Assignments are really difficult. Slides are not very good either. Takes a long time to get marks back.

This guy is the worst in history of teachers I have had. Marked the exams to basically fail you even if you are on a right track in a question you still get a 0. Assignment are either full marks or zero. I never have gotten so much disappointed with any class then his. Please I beg you not to take any of his class wasted so much money and time.

Easily one of the worst profs you will meet. Lectures have nothing to do with the class and he gives out assignments that we haven't learned how to do. He doesn't mark those assignments for months so you don't know whether you're even passing the class. The midterm was hard on purpose and we weren't given enough time to finish it either. RUN

Enthusiastic while teaching, and extremely caring when I went to ask him in his office. Exams fairly easy with some hard questions.

Karim's lecture notes and UR Courses postings are grossly disorganized. He mumbles and speaks quietly, and when he makes mistakes on examples, he simply moves on. Add this to the fact that he always has his back to the class, and the lectures legitimately feel like he's doing his own homework. No curve for a midterm with a failing average either.

Nothing in the course relates to each other. This makes studying pretty difficult because we have no idea what to focus on. Also talking to him is impossible as he dosent look at students as people trying to learn, he expects you to be an expert after he talks about for 5 minutes in a lecture.

I cant give a rating of 0 so I am forced to give him a 1. He is a tough grader and does NOT curve despite a failing average on the midterm. Hard to follow the lectures. Most students don't show up and if they do, they are not engaged - which I cannot blame. Work hard to get that 50 and dip. Sincerely, One who loves electronics.

This is the least organized professor I've ever had. He teaches a software engineering course, yet he can barely use UR courses. He revises assignments 20 times after he publishes them. He mumbles and is monotone. His writing is so tiny you won't be able to read from the back half of the class. His average midterm grade is about 30%. TERRIBLE.

The course is pretty hard as it is and Karim managed to make it even harder. He rushes through everything and his explanations are really poor. He is very picky with how questions are done as well.

Comment:
Some people are just not meant to teach Karim is one of those people. He has good notes and organized slides, but his lectures have no clear direction. He jumps all over the place and a lot of times fails to explain concepts and just assumes you know them magically. His monotone voice also doesn't help in all this.

Comment:
Karim often teaches other people's classes on short notice - he was a bit unsure what to teach this semester. His material is strongly based on the textbook - read it and you won't be lost. He is clearly trying to help out, but it doesn't always come through. A few weird lectures (random videos, looking at code, what language is this?!)

Comment:
As other have mentioned, cookies n' Karim spends most of the time showing his students how well he can code software (and to be real, he can) instead of bringing us to his level. In a real-time embedded systems class, he lectured and had assignments to implement a queue.! What he thought were 3-5 hour long labs turned into 15 hours (for everyone).

Comment:
Karim's teaching skills are less than adequate. Spends most of the lecture explaining to the floor of the room as opposed to engaging with the class. When consulted about various concepts he either doesn't seem to know what what you're asking about, doesn't have a clear way to answer your question, or makes you more confused. unhelpful textbook!
