He is so nice and funny! Participation is really important but he is hard of hearing so you really need to speak up. Only 2 readings a week and if you read them the class is so easy! If you do not read them you will not do well, tests are only 25MC but if you ready the readings all the way through once then you will do fine.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS- i took it because i saw the reviews and thought it wouldnt be to bad. THE TESTS ARE IMPOSSIBLE 25 mult choice questions on over 10 readings that are over 20 pages each...they are ridiculously hard and the test questions are unclear. The paper is completely impossible

Although class can be boring and the readings can be long this is an amazing class. The concepts learned were incredibly interesting and will stick with you. Just do the readings and study and you'll do fine. Weekly quizzes, 2 exams, 1 paper.

He's not exactly the most invigorating lecturer in the world. Probably want to avoid if you think it may actually kill you to sit through 3-hour lab meetings that could probably be cut in half if it weren't for the ten second (I counted) pauses in his speech. That said, he's really nice and always willing to help. Just do the readings and show up.

Uses articles for class instead of a book. Seminar-style class, so you read and then discuss. Focuses on understanding whole concepts, and tests are easy if you do. This class is one of those that gives you a new perspective on the world -- highly recommend taking it. Also, he can help you with grad school information.

Pay attention. Try to incorporate as many readings as possible in the group project. Hopefully he will go back to tests. My group was horrible, but I kept him up to date on my problems, and I still got a B.

He makes his expectations clear on day one. If you're not prepared for class, you are pretty much screwed for that day since he randomly calls on people. Definitly learn a lot though. Really interesting class.
