He doesn't know how to make fair tests, doesn't give enough example problems to adequately solve the questions he gives on a test.

The final exam is only about circuit analysis. To pass the final exam, you need to go through all circuit problems on his notes and assignments. All physics/V-I diagrams/multiple choices problems won't be on the final exam. He is knowledgeable, come to his office hour would be a good idea to pass the course.

I failed this class. I was 1 point short on the final to pass the course. He told me I'm close by percentage but he doesn't want to pass me based on some silly mistakes I made. I then ask him if he can give me 1 point on 1 step I did right. He told me he won't give me 1 point for the right formula. He is 100% confident with the material though.

The final was ridiculous. We spent 90% of time working with single transistor, MOSFET, BJT and JFET etc. Other 10% of time we were working with 2 well connected transistors such as BJT terminal e connected with another BJT terminal b. But in the final he asked us MOSFETs in opposite direction with 6+ resistors and crazy cct we never seen before.

The final was really hard, with a bunch of stuff thrown in there that weve never seen or had practice for. The midterm wasnt that bad as the other reviews say. Only the first question was hard, the other ones were pretty easy if you knew your 280 stuff and studied enough. Overall, this professor makes you work for your grade.

Midterm and Finals are EXTREMELY hard and doesn't reflect what we do in the class. We probably did less than 20 examples in the whole semester. The finals have a bit of resemblance of the example, but always something in there than we've never have practice for

He ridiculed the entire class for struggling with a tricky midterm that he felt was easy, and when the class improved on a series of second-half quizzes, he credited his own teaching as the reason for success. He's clearly comfortable with the material, and he fields questions and explains concepts well, but he's just about impossible to respect.

He is a good professor. His lectures are very well organized and his explanations are very good. The class is tough and he lets you know that from the start. He expects you to fully understand each concept so his midterms and tests can sometimes be hard.

Raman was great. Couldn't have had a better ENEL prof. If you sit up front and really tune in to what he is saying you can do well. He is extremely understanding and took the midterms back for regrading when the students felt they weren't being treated fairly. I can't say I respect a prof more than him. He is more than happy to talk after class.

This professor couldn't adequately explain concepts. I never went to class and instead just learned from problems.

Most of his lectures are based on explaining and proving the concepts. He barely does any examples in class. However, if you work hard and focus, you will do well. He is very helpful in his office hours provided that you are specific in your questions.

He was very difficult to meet up with for questions. He was not interested in an introductory undergrad class and seemed to only care about his grad students. He also did not know how to explain basic concepts in a clear way and over complicated the course.

If you perfectly understand what he teaches you during the lectures, you will not have any trouble with exams. But if you just memorize and believe that you understand, you will not have good marks. I am very much sure that at least he does not make Q's in exams with something he did not teach in the class.

Raman is a pretty good prof. My main gripe is that HE HAS NO CLUE HOW TO MAKE TESTS. I think tests should yaknow, test you on what you have learned over the semester. Most questions were slightly different than anything we had ever dealt with. Plus he makes 1 Q worth half of the test, so if you don't get it, you are basically screwed.

Take notes, and do seminar problems, and there shouldn't be any problem to get at least 75. He's very helpful if you go ask him as well.

I didnt learn much even though I went to every lecture at 830am.He made the tests and assignments much harder than the simple examples he did in class.Good guy though and was easy to approach and ask questions. The final was so hard Im sure everyone would have failed if he didn't curve the marks.I ended up getting a mark I didn't really deserve.

awesome proff. shows no respect for the deadbeats that somehow made it through 1st year, and is willing to help the people who actually want to get something out of the class. He gives a ton of examples which is great because you never get stuck on assignments. definetly take his classes.

He's super friendly, willing to help you out, tries hard and explains better than most. Organization could use a little work, but he doesn't "um" all *that* much and he's only "mean" if there's a good reason.
