If you actually go to class and do readings, it's pretty easy. If you don't, you'll fail. She gives easy pop quizzes.

I took these classes years ago, and yeah, while she may be a bit unconventional in her teaching methods, she doesn't exactly make it hard to do well. Lectures tend to be a lot of "this theorist says this, another theorist says this"... Just go to lecture and take notes, you'll be fine. She gave us the entire exam outline, for crying out loud.

Had to drop out of my program and switch universities as a result of discrimination. Completely unaccommodating towards students with health issues, unprofessional. Grading scheme and feedback on essays are vague and unclear. If she is teaching a course, I would recommend steering clear of it.

She is such a sweet professor! I had her during a spring course, and she answered any questions I had by email very quickly. She also gave lots of opportunities for extra credit by having "pop quizzes" in class... anyone who wasn't asleep would be able to get 100% on them. I finished with an 88 in the course, and I'm a science major.

I really liked Caroline. I'm the type of person who needs lots of details on how I'm going to be graded, but I feel like she gave enough detail without feeding us exactly what she wanted. I liked how she rewarded people for attending. Great sense of humour and willing to give really good feedback if you put effort into meeting with her.

Forget everything you know about writing - wants 5 paragraph point-quote-analysis essays like they taught you in grade 7. Takes attendance in unhelpful lectures that must be attended for extra marks, gives exam orally, slides only have a handful of vague terms. Seems like a nice lady but the kind of prof who makes you want to switch majors.

Wants 7th grade essay format - point, unembedded quote as "proof," interpretation, 5 paragraphs. All other profs say to assume they're familiar with the text, that doing otherwise is poor style - she expects "proof" for things explicitly stated in the text. Attended every lecture, took notes, still learned nothing in this class. Very disappointing.

A Very boring and un-helpful lectures, assigns too many obscure out-of-print books that can't be found in bookstores, marks hard while being very vague about what she expects, gives the exam orally in class and won't repeat instructions - absolutely a joke, I have never had a teacher or professor like this in all my years of schooling.

I didn't learn anything from this class. Her verbal instructions repeatedly clashed with her written instructions (i.e on the syllabus) so i didnt know exactly what i needed to do. A good portion of her lectures involved only criticism of our seminar papers rather than lecture material pertaining to the course. My paper marks ranged from 100% - 50%

In shock at how poorly the class was taught. Some people are not meant to teach, she is definitely one of those people. We had an exchange student that was also a special needs student and she would not let her make up for the assignments she missed because she signed up to the class late because of administrative reasons - completely heartless

Lecture notes for the entire course was 14 pages compared to my other classes where its about 60. Lectures were entirely a waste of time, she spent the entire class criticizing our writing instead of actually teaching us about writing and the novels. Horrible Class. Horrible Prof. We pay a lot of money for these classes only to be treated poorly.

I have never been more disappointed in a professor in my entire life. She gave the exam orally in class and if someone was not in lecture she would give it to them only a few days ahead of time as a punishment for not being in class. She is a very tough grader, she may call everything you write irrelevant- DESTRUCTIVE CRITICISM AT ITS BEST

Lectures were useless as she gave trivial information about books' publication. 500-page assignments due every week was an annoyance and seemed like a buffer for the course in lieu of actual thoughtful discussion and content. Exam was very unclear with no specific instructions. One of the worst profs I had during my academic career.

For everyone complaining this is most likely because they didn't get a good grade. She gives opportunities for bonus quizzes. Although she is a tough marker on the essays she clearly explains what she wants and how to do that. Easy exam, she gave the questions well in advance and they were fair! I got 100% on the exam, if you prepare you do well!

She is the worst Professor I have ever had. It was clear she had absolutely no idea what she was doing. Makes fun of students for getting bad grades and then provides no feedback. Spends 90% of the lecture attempting to make jokes. Didn't learn a thing when she took over the class. Would not take a class by her again. Takes attendence in lecture.

I have an endless list of complaints about this woman, but after seeing my participation grade all I have to say is that I sincerely pity the rest of the people who were in my class and never said a word during seminars or lectures, because there were plenty of them. If I only got a 73, they must have gotten a 30. A completely incompetent joke.

Worst professor I've had in my five years of schooling. No help is even offered and if you do ask a question you are made to feel dumb for asking. Mocked the class if a test was poorly done. Lecture were not stimulating and most of what was learned was through self-teaching through the text book, but exams were on matter rarely dicussed in class. Horrible experience.
